Not all of the kids in 2005-2009 responded well to the Urban way of doing things. He ran off 11 (ELEVEN!) football players before the first game of his first season. He was such a good recruiter that it didn't matter. And running those eleven off was addition by subtraction. Removing them (and their toxic influence on the team) was what the program needed. Everyone that was left knew that everyone else was fully committed to winning. Even a few years later, Urban was still booting players from the team, including a 5-star, #2 HS DT in the nation, who was clowning around more than he was focused on football. The player's parents came in to meet with Meyer, the player cried his eyes out begging to be let back on the team, and Urban said no. He was gone. I think the kid was from Quincy, FL.

Maybe he should hire a third offensive line coach, one who can actually identify, recruit, and develop players

I think it’s money as far as getting the players we obviously missed on.

I never heard these excuses and I was there, unfortunately. UF 1995 just ran into one of the greatest CF teams of all time. Are you really comparing CBN's teams to the 1995 team?

Napier has no interest in saving his job. Worst case scenario for him is 26 mil to do nothing. He isn’t like saban

Before the start of the season with our schedule I would have been ok but not happy with 6 wins. After Miami and the basement dweller comment, 9 wins

You can’t blame a coach if the players he needs to do his job are not purchased. I didn’t think that needed explanation.

Interesting thread, but pretty simple response from me. Two losing seasons in the bag. Another and he is gone. 8 wins with the team turning into a well disciplined efficient competitor? Different story, but who really expects that?

Another angle on this -The immediate problem is BN now needs to prove “he is not a bad coach.” That is fair and likely decides his fate this season. Another question, however, is can he be a championship level coach? Is our analysis on the question of him keeping his job based on him not being bad or actually being good?

Is this just wild conjecture or is there evidence suggesting our spending is not in line with teams that can field a solid OL?

From what I have been told, UF is not a top NIL player but we are VERY competitive (certainly top 20). The issue is that many of the funders see the expenditure not being met by production and so have pulled back or threatened to pull back. Summary is that UF certainly has NIL to be top 25, and with wins would attract more cash, but complaining that you do not have top 3 NIL cash when you have top 20 cash but your performance is bottom of the SEC is not productive.

This is more or less what I expected, especially if the rumor is true that we've already lined up the buyout money and want to get Kiffin.

If you can’t buy the los, it ain’t happening. Clemson had it.

Not sure what this means? I’m not saying we have bought line of scrimmage players to beat UGA, but do we not have the LOS to beat Arky, UK, Mizzou, etc. The point of my post being that we are not arguing whether BN is good/great, but asking how bad he is after 2 losing seasons. Is that the conversation we want?

Saying UF does not pay players enough NIL money to have better than a losing record is inane. To put a finer point on it, we certainly do not have championship talent, yet I do not believe we have losing record talent. Further, in a talent rich state like Florida, with a good alumni base, if UF has losing record talent, whose fault is that?

BN has done nothing with the OL but make it worse. The defense as a whole is not that good. BN doesn't seem to have a sense of urgency. Another loss at home and he's toast!

The Gators have the talent, the glaring problem is the OL. If the OL was good, the defense wouldn't need to be on the field as much.
