I am certainly not defending Trump, but it is highly unlikely the guy is having drinks with McConnell at night while plotting how best to ruin the US. What we have seen repeatedly from the people who actually worked with him (and really should be obvious to us as well) is that Trump can hardly see past his own narcissistic interests. A few of his supporters admit this, but even those that don’t aren’t interested in destroying the nation. And surely if some left wing nutjob tried to assassinate Harris, we shouldn’t be blaming the conservative nation.

 

McConnell is a good guy in this respect. Even Johnson is fully on board with the sane after getting the proper briefings. Hell, Marjorie Traitor Chomsky has gone silent with her treason as well. This is mostly because they're just plain stupid and now realize the correct tact was to attack Biden on Ukraine from the Right rather than the Commie, Code-Pink left. But, too late for that. The MAGA morons took the bait and swallowed the hook already.

 

Your post implied more than that, but from my vantage, the hatred of the right for Kamala is at least as intense. And your characterizations of liberals have seemed even more denigrating lately. Trust me, I get the frustration of dealing with the partisan mind, but this is clearly a door that swings both ways. If their view of the opponent is so negatively biased, can you be sure yours is entirely pure?

 

I think most are too stupid - or in a cult-like trance - to even realize they're destroying the country. Do you think Marjorie Traitor Chomsky actually knows what she's saying? No. She's parroting lines provided to her, in this case, probably by FSB operatives.

 

Here’s the thing. If they are all that stupid, there’s no need for FSB at all. They can just parrot each other, as is common among tribal movements.

 

FSB (and the CCP equivalent) work FB, X and social media all the time. They're in their threads, stirring the pot. Sometimes even playing "the liberal" or "the conservative" for no other purpose than to promote the division. So, yeah, inject the Trojan Horse and let lemmings do the heavy lifting for you. It's actually brilliant and so many in this country just play right along with their game.

 

Trump really won the debate. I know that for a fact because I just watched a couple of hot news readers on Newsmax telling the real story rather than the false narrative promulgated by what a certain poster refers to as the lamestream media.

No, but I am concerned that when she lets the 2017 tax cuts expire, she’s going to cut the standard deduction in half and eliminate the qualified business income deduction for self-employed schedule C filers. Both of those aspects of the 2017 tax cuts benefit low and middle income people.

 

This is an important issue, CHF. I am sure that this happens, as one of the most effective ways to gain acceptance of a belief is to make it appear that it is widely held among one’s tribe. Still, that this knowledge is common, we should expect many different entities to competing to drive us toward many different narratives, and I see no reason that this danger should be confined to the right.

 

If someone could promise the R's flip the Senate and Thomas and Alito are going to be alive and well over the next five years, I'd be fine with Harris winning.
