PEDs don't work all by themselves like that. Steroids don't just help you get bigger, the speed up the recovery process so you can do more.

Ironically, keys to both games were having faster players at key positions. Ex: Nebraska’s smallish outside linebackers. Maybe the had a strength training program that made them smaller.

A "finely" tuned PED's program requires both.

Nebraska rushed for over 500 yards. They sacked Danny 7 times. You saying those stats had nothing to do with them being more physical?

Are they really serious now, though? I think the NFL is, but not college. Both Clemson and Bama had players suspended for PED's in the national title game a few years back. Bama and Georgia both have the appearance of a 'roided up program. I think its just lip service to testing and that some programs have figured out a hack to beat whatever nominal testing is taking place.

The option is based largely on misdirection. And your unproven assertion is that strength training produces toughness. If that is so, how do you explain why we were bigger but Nebraska was tougher ?

I don't remember Nebraska having anyone suspended for PEDs back then, or for criminal things either(Lawrence Philips).

We weren't bigger. We were as big. But, 300 lbs of muscle is better than 300 lbs of fat, even though they still weigh the same. Oh yeah, where was the misdirection on Tommie Frazier's long run? Breaking tackles has nothing to do with misdirection.

What is get from the video is what is specific to already strong, fast teams. The training should be for protection from injury than one upping your competition. That is more important in the NFL and not deep college teams than it is to Georgia, OSU and Bama, whose training regimen everyone has to copy. Until everybody can recruit depth like they can, the teams have to protect their first teamers. We have lost a lot of first teamers already this year.

Some people are just easily injured. Guys that are on the roster for the third year and have been hurt. Every single year would not still be on the roster at a premiere program.

I think it was all that fat that Ben Hanks was carrying that allowed Tommy Frazier to escape.

Yep, I agree with all of that. The only other factor to consider would be that you can go out and acquire another player during the year in the NFL if a player goes down, but, in college, you can only pull from those enrolled on campus during the season.

Aren’t PED’d supposed to make you bigger and stronger than your opponents ? Maybe Nebraska took PED’s that made them smaller.

All I know is that when there are long threads about strength and conditioning, it means our team is doing bad and we're in trouble...

    Nebraska’s DE’s were 250 and 240 respectively, their OLB’s were 199 and 197.
