Targeted tariffs for specific industries can be useful, but also in this specific instance, the US was hit with retaliatory tariffs. We could remove our tariffs but the retaliatory tariffs are likely to remain.

We had to end up paying farmers 10s of billions of dollars to offset retaliatory tariffs.

Across the board tariffs are not a good idea because that will just broadly result in price increases plus the consequences of potential retaliatory tariffs.

we would be better off with only the retaliatory tariffs.

Interesting, please enlighten me on my views of Harris' proposals. I don't recall expressing my thoughts in that regard.
I will say it is difficult to steal things that don't exist

Kinda like giving someone 50k towards a down payment on a home will just raise real estate prices.

But most importantly, Harris won on style points

You guys are so cute. Trying so hard to gaslight yourselves into thinking that was anything other than a disaster. I love the evolution from "that was a disaster" to "Trump won and was right all along". Aww.

What Trump was referencing was something that Ralph Northam, the former Governor of Virginia and a pediatric doctor, said in a interview said about live birth abortions. It was an interview about an abortion bill in VA and Northam's answer made it sound like if a child survived and the mother and doctor's would make a decision on whether or not to let the child continue to live. Northam is not known as a great live speaker* and he stepped in it on his response. He tried walked it back later but the answer was already on video. Here is a link to a CNN article about it.

    https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/31/politics/ralph-northam-third-trimester-abortion/index.html

This answer by Northam is used by Republicans when they want to point out how extreme Democrats are on abortion. However, Trump being Trump could not actually articulate that and because he did not prepare, he got the state Northam was the governor of wrong.

*See the Northam's press conference where he apologizing for wearing blackface to avoid resigning and almost started to demonstrate his moonwalking abilities until his wife shot him a look that stopped him from doing it.

Yeah, I remember this, the retaliator soy bean tariff fiasco... Turned out, Brazil was more than willing and able to fill the void left by Trump's tariffs and left the soy bean farmers in America devastated and in need of a bail out.

And four years later, the Farmers still have no market ... this guy is selling his crop for value of the seeds ...

Of course, now that pubs are pro choice (votes > babies), they have to paint dems as in favor of baby execution.

Bumper stickers proclaiming BABY EXECUTION IS MURDER are a tautology, but whatever.

What Northam meant and it should have been obvious was that if a fetus survived a failed abortion attempt and there is virtually no chance of survival the better alternative is let nature take its course rather than trying futile heroic measures to briefly extend its life. The same would be apply to any other birth in which fetal abnormalities are so severe that there is no chance of survival.

Trump is so rattled by his terrible and embarrassing performance that he won't even agree to Fox News debate unless he gets to select the moderators. He was asked if he'd agree to a Fox debate moderated by Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. He said No, and named Hannity and Watters as the moderators he'd want ...

“Well, I wouldn’t want to have Martha and Bret; I would love to have somebody else other than Martha and Bret,” Mr. Trump said, before ticking off his preferred alternatives, including the Fox pundits Sean Hannity and Jesse Watters. “Let’s give other people a shot,” he said.

This is sad. But if it was 3 against one, I think Harris would own them all.

I know but once again Northam is really bad at answering questions off the cuff and his answer was very strangely worded given the point he was trying to make. If you show the average person that video clip, it is not certain that they will draw the same conclusion you do about what Northam meant. And as such, it fits well into attack ads and debate talking points.

IMO, when the tweet starts off with “Comrade Kamala,” there’s no reason to listen or read any further. It just isn’t serious or trustworthy.

Not if the baby was sentenced to death by a court of law for murder, which could happen in Texas, probably

Well, I did see a liberal lady abort and then mop the floor with a 78 year old baby on live TV on Tuesday.

Is there a candidate who wants to expand the amount of work visas issued, not add new tariffs, not raise taxes significantly, not enact new absurd social welfare for votes, and work to balance the budget? Where's that man or woman at? Please raise your hand so I can vote for you.

Yeah, the 'comrade' stuff is pretty lame. But Harris was wrong. While there are no active duty fighting in any wars, we do have military in combat zones.
