Yes, most ignorant people think that.

Taylor Swift is 34 years old and her latest double album from April is about both her life and her latest adult relationships both good (Travis Kelce) and bad (others). Her most recent real pop singalongs were from 10, 11 years ago.

    • Baby boomers: 23% of avid fans are baby boomers.

    • Gen Xers: 21% of avid fans are Gen Xers.

Demographic profile by generation of Taylor Swift fans 2023 | Statista

Her core fan base is millennials (which makes perfect sense considering she herself is a millennial who started young and has been going for nearly 2 decades now, meaning a lot of her fans started out as kids but are now in that 27-42 demographic).

What is interesting is another sizable chunk skew even older. Genx and Boomers combine to form another 43%. I wouldn’t have guessed that.

I'm currently standing in line at a UPS store and the 40 year old looking lady in front of me has a Taylor Swift 2023 tour shirt on.

So just to recap, @Gatorrick22 and @g8trjax mocked others based on ignorance? Is that embarrassing?

So according to some, encouraging more people to register, vote, and participate in our system of self governance is a bad thing?

When you lose the popular vote every time and you maintain power through gerrymandering and putting up barriers to voting, yes.

The Swift effect may make a difference in turnout. In 2016, for example, only 33% of registered voters under 29 voted. In 2020, that number jumped to 51%. Not sure how many are registered to vote, but considering about 15% of Arizona's population falls between 18-29, if this number jumps up even higher, this is likely very good for Harris.

Since they're hiding in their parents basements, pretty sure her followers are more concerned with the high cost of living, earning some money, their repossessed cars, groceries, etc.

    There is a child effect.

“Hey dad, Taylor Swift is voting for Harris. Who are you voting for and why?”

Rather ironic since the Trump campaign is actually targeting young males living in their parents' basements.

Harris has a 16 pt lead in the age group, and this was before the Swift endorsement. Will be interesting to see if Swift has moved the needle for Harris, especially among the 6% someone else group and 10% not voting group. Even if the numbers don't change, if Swift can convince 50,000 more under 30s to vote in a state like Arizona, that would mean +8000 for Harris. Maybe enough to sway an election that is very close right now.

Oh, and my 19-year old just started her second year of college and is working part-time to help pay. Cost of living is high, but so is her hourly wage. She's doing fine.

Only if the newly registered voters are likely to vote for a candidate other than their candidate of choice.
