Matthews said that D.J made easy throws because the long balls are easiest to toss. He meant to say D.J made the long ball look easy. The long call is hard to throw accurately, and D.J was accurate with the long ball. I don't care who we played, that is beside the point, IMHO.

One more QB that was supposedly not that great in practice throwing the ball. Tebow. He won a Natty and a Heisman too. And he was accurate in games like Danny was...

The long throws are the easiest if a player has that ability. The quick things the greats do are close to the los and much more complicated. The greats can do both. DJ definitely has an advantage on the deep balls but probably needs work on that short to medium game.

The great ones don't even need to windup like a major league pitcher to toss the ball 40+ yards and look like it's difficult to do. The great ones have a fast, quick, smooth, easy release.

And they also take that automatic five yard toss to make it second and five consistently. They stay ahead of the sticks and make you defend the entire field every down.

He needs to take a lesson from Mr. Robinson. My wife left me today boys and girls. I’m so glad the pitch is gone

With our offensive line, throwing off base and accurately on a 20 yard route is critical. DJ can do that and GM cannot. It is not damning to GM b/c few QBs can do that and most play on Sundays eventually. Yes, GM would be a very solid QB for the HBC, but we do not run that offense, which begs a question if you are riding GM.

Did Shane say we would lose? I listened to inside huddle and Shane is always wrong.

Just to throw this out there…. I think Shane said the long ball is the safest not the easiest.

I really like Shane, but Mertz has a better arm than Purdy? We have yet to realize it!

Lack of damn discipline, and some of the players should know better.

Napier? After that UM beat down? And we were, allegedly, the more talented team than UM! Shane says the OL isn't very good. I don't see any more improvements coming on the OL or DL in 2025.

We actually were not favored against Miami. They had us by a field goal even on our own turf in front of a sold out Swamp. So, not sure we can say we were the more talented team. But, we should have been at least competitive, and, we definitely weren't.

Late hits on the QB are always unnecessary in my mind. They accomplish absolutely nothing and usually negate a bad forced throw. It must be the ego of hitting the guy you're chasing. But, agree that this kind of penalty is very undisciplined. I can't understand jumping on the line when you're on offense, either. You know the snap count. Don't move before that. Pretty simple.
