You have a problem if commitment to truth is a qualifier for any politician. These two are no different. The differentiator in this instance is raving unprepared lunatic versus prepared bobble head Barbie, although last night she managed to control her usual nervous defense mechanism cackling and even pretend to be a little stately.
Based on this, he won the debate on substance. Maybe not so much on style. But there’s your single largest issue with voters and he gained ground.
Your word choice here is interesting to say the least. I don't have high expectations for politicians and truth. Of course, we're always speaking relatively here. So lying about one's record to make it sound better or at least less bad bothers me less than the sort of divisive, hateful demagoguery that Trump engages in. I also don't appreciate constantly hearing that America "is a failed country."
Particularly from someone who is if anything a symptom of said failure. That's just gaslighting! Literally a criminal telling you crime is out of control.
“I don’t know that I want to do another debate,” he said on Fox. He claimed that Ms. Harris only wanted one because, in his accounting, she had lost Tuesday’s — though her campaign had agreed to do two debates before she took the stage. https://www.nytimes.com/2024/09/11/us/politics/trump-harris-second-presidential-debate.html
Her performance really underscores how terrible Biden did. There isn't an easier shitbag to litigate on a national stage than Donald Trump and he simply couldn't do it like she did.
I think her performance was quite literally "generic Democrat replacement" level ... nothing exceptional about it. Being able to hit the softballs you get really helps, not pivoting to illegal immigration when you get an abortion question. Things of that nature.
I was surprised she didn't hit him harder on that, especially when he was so obviously lying about the crime rate.
You are spouting a Republican talking point without thinking for yourself. I weigh 20 times more than I used to weigh. Big deal. I was an 8 pound baby. Grocery prices are up 50% since about 15 years ago. As for the increase in prices during the Biden administration, what caused them and what could any President have done to avoid the price increases other than letting Putin roll over Ukraine? Perhaps, if Trump hadn’t been such a clown in dealing with COVID-19, we wouldn’t have had the resulting inflation.
It seems obvious that Trump doesn’t listen to his advisors because they must have told him to steer away from the meaningless pet cuisine issue and to focus on Harris’ policy failures and situational flip flopping. Being Trump, he couldn’t control his ego nor present himself in an appropriate manner. Harris seemed to do better in manner, at least to me, when compared to some of her previous apparently unscripted interviews. Shows that prep is important for debates and Trump said he had been preparing all his life and he wasn’t doing much extra, if I recall correctly. BTW: The wife’s father was in the restaurant freezer/cooler business and he had seen skinned and gutted cat carcasses hanging in coolers.
You keep posting that. He was talking about infants born with non-viable deformities where the baby had a few minutes to live and how they treat them. Had nothing to do with abortion. Link one story of a baby killed in the delivery room. Should be really easy since you posted this on like 4 threads so far. It must happen everywhere. Link please. (okee runs away)
How about instead of mocking it, understand it’s true? There is police video of a woman they arrested after she ate a cat. Understand that this is what some Haitians do as spiritual ritual (Voodoo). It’s very real and not a stretch at all that it would be happening here if Haitian migrants crossed the border.
My word choice was an attempt to say that both candidates are terrible. This is the first election for which I am seriously considering not voting for president. I can’t support either side based upon what I have seen so far. edit: …first election in 44 years, BTW
