Yeah, the “they’re eating dogs and cats” line will go down in infamy. I’m sure some of our resident crazies believed the “they’re executing babies after birth line”, some even use that type of rhetoric. They don’t comprehend how crazy that comes off to everyone else.

I think far righters were just having a little fun with the dogs and cats thing. Even though it’s based on xenophobia/racism (which is typical for them), I think they were trying to have some fun with it as a viral meme like the JD Vance couch thing. Guess they should have realized a foreseeable risk, that their presidential candidate would see it and actually think it was real! Epic backfire. That moment had me rolling.

I honestly don’t know how you’d get more “nuclear f’up” than that. There were moments after the crowd size talk Trump got so flustered I thought he might walk out. Honestly doing that or staight up physically assaulting his opponent mid-debate are the only lower points he could reach.

 

No she didn't. I have heard that they kept them, but re focused them on specific products and not a broad brush. I think the dropped the ball there.

 

That's a great clip. First, note the question which asks about Trump's threat of 'long-term prison sentences' for all those he thinks cheated him out of the election. That's pretty scary stuff.

And Harris' answer. I'm not crazy about the 'world leaders are laughing at him' stuff because it sounds too much like Trump's constant 'everyone says ...'
But the fact is that he did try to 'upend the will of the voters in a free and fair election' and that is beyond inexcusable.

I ended up watching the last 45 minutes or so. My 'objective' analysis is basically that this debate represented the state of American politics. With a Trumpy GOP that is basically unhinged and has nothing to say about anything other than immigrants cause all the problems and tariffs are the solution to everything, the Democrats can basically give the bare minimum of substance on policy matters and look more in command of things. The debate was mostly interesting in the fact that it is very rare for two candidates to have a presidential administration and record to defend. No one can fully wield the "change" card.

Odd that we’ll evaluate and ruminate over which candidate “won” the 9/10/24 debate ….. when the only important matter is the American people lost. Both candidates are profoundly deficient ….. and the progressivist dogma and agenda are simply abhorrent and destructive.
