Harris being the border czar is another fake story.

Trump spent more time on the golf course than he did in the WH. One time Biden goes to the beach, and he's a slacker. Biden backed out because he was perceived as aging more quickly and so it was determined he couldn't win. He agreed and stepped down. That's it. Nothing more to see here.
    --------------------------

On another note in regard to the debate. I wanted her to address the lies that he spewed which have been talking points of his followers and she didn't. For instance calling her a border czar and the crime rates being "the highest we've ever seen". I did see where there were a couple questions that she side stepped, that I again wish she had addressed and set the record straight, like the tariffs. Trump couldn't say he wanted Ukraine to win, even when they gave him a second chance. Trump praised Victor Orban, good grief people, the guy is a murderous dictator!

He played right into her hands and it was very entertaining. I already heard from a couple people on my social media who are switching their vote or they decided to vote and vote for Kamala.

I didn't watch much. But when she was asked about keeping Trump's tariffs, she didn't answer it all, did she?

Pretty much neither one answered the questions about their past records and just went straight into their talking points.

Trump repeatedly said "everyone, including democrats and liberals", wanted Roe v. Wade overturned so that states can decide ... that is one thing I wish Harris had hit back on, but with Trump's fire hose of B.S. all night, she had to pick which to respond to, or else rebutting him would have taken up all her time ...

Whatever bump she got, it wasn't nearly enough.

She needed Trump to face plant or to come off as nasty.

The debate was a 3 on one gang up that will have all the negative impact of the 19 indictments.

Just more confirmation of a royally rigged game that prompts greater backlash than benefit to the intended beneficiary (sKamala in this case).

    Interesting!

I only caught the highlights but the bit about a teen subjected to incest having to carry full term and a woman bleeding out in a car and directly posing that back to him looked like a pretty strong retort.

Yep, she sidestepped that one. She also sidestepped the question on her changing policy positions.

Two occurrences from Trump that caught my eye:

Trump was asked about the likely inflationary effect of 20% tariffs and answered we’re going to collect so much money.

He was also asked exactly how he planned to deport 11M illegal immigrants, eg by going door to door, and he answered that they are only here because of Biden and Harris.

Polling was almost a direct reverse of the first debate.

No, she did a good job of hitting back on abortion as a whole, really solid there, but I'm talking about the alternative reality that "everybody" wanted Roe overturned and are glad he did it. That's not even close to true. Apparently this is not new to him, and he's been saying that one the campaign trail for a couple weeks. I found this CNN article calling him out from August 27th

"Every Democrat, every Republican, everybody wanted Roe v. Wade terminated and brought back to the states”

Fact check: Trump, reversing reality, keeps saying ‘everybody’ wanted Roe overturned | CNN Politics

Even if they went harder after Trump than Harris, some questions deserve to be asked. When one of your campaign promises is to deport 11M people, it is fair game for a journalist to ask how you intend to do that. The fact that Trump didn’t even attempt an answer is on him, not ABC.

Nope. Probably good debate strategy to not get lost in the weeds on the tariffs they didn’t repeal.

She tried to hit him on trade wars and that the type of “across the board” tariffs Trump would cost families $4,000 (which I actually thought was $2800, so she probably cherry-picked the worst estimate). But I don’t think her answer really nailed it. A better answer would have just been to state that “across the board” tariffs Trump pushes now are different from before and far more expensive for consumers. She just tried to reframe it as a “Trump sales tax”, so it was more of a canned response. Probably one of the few areas she didn’t crush it. Trumps talk on this was also gibberish so nobody really hammered home any points on tariffs/trade.

Trump should quit. He got owned. I'm glad the moderators stated the obvious, like "It's illegal in every state to kill children after birth", but it's sad they have to make those kind of statements to clear up the lies being told by a feeble and senile elderly dotard.

“Donald Trump was fired by 81 million people. So let’s be clear about that. And clearly he’s having a difficult time processing that”

Watching his facial expressions…this was the one that got to him the most. This is also where she called him a disgrace.

IMO this is where she really broke him. This is where he plays the Victor orban play. This exchange is where he he did the pet eating bit.

    Well played, Kamala.

Nah. Every time Trump opens his mouth, especially in debates, Republicans brace themselves for the nuclear ##$%& up. It didn't happen last night.

Trump held serve, and mods again confirmed that ABC, like all MSM, is patently incapable of journalistic integrity--probably the single biggest motivating factor behind the MAGA movement.

It should be more like 83-17. Harris annihilated him, it wasn’t even close. When Trump has someone who isn’t a dementia patient to debate and who actually prepares and knows their stuff, he’s a clueless buffoon.

Polls are in: Trump did nearly as bad as Biden. 63% said Harris won 37% are delusional. 67% said Trump won against Biden back in June so 33% were delusional.
