You guys can get all your kicks out of this, but you ignore the very real problems that immigration has brought to Springfield, Ohio. These problems are not racial. Many of these Haitians are hard-working, churchgoing people. The problems are infrastructure. In 2022 Springfield had a population of roughly 58,000. In the last four years, between 12,000 and 20,000 Haitians have been sent there, presumably by the federal government. City officials say that city services, fire and police services, healthcare services, and schools are severely stretched. The number of students needing help with English as a second language has quadrupled. Rents have skyrocketed to the point that many families can no longer afford to live there. These problems came about under the Biden/Harris administration. What are they doing about it? Not what do they promise to do, but what are they currently doing now?
It is only being ignored if the premise is "Haitians in Springfield is bad". That is not what is being discussed here. Sounds like economic growth to me. Growth is good, right? How did the Federal Government "send" people to a town? Can they leave? Sounds like capitalism to me. Capitalism is good, right? Not to Dewine about it, but why is this a Federal problem and not a state one? Won't capitalism fix this over time? This is not the first boom town.
