I think I would play Lagway a ton in the TAMU game. The offense is totally different than with Mertz. Lagway is mobile and seems to have more pocket awareness than Mertz. Plus, the throws DJ made were absolutely insane. Somebody is a damn fool to leave DJ on the bench! I will say this, the offensive playcalling was excellent at times and downright stupid at other times. The playcalling appeared to compliment Lagway, because he had a record performance. However, some of the calls detrimentally stalled drives and failed in the end zone. I don't think we are seeing competent SEC playcalling; and I'm talking about consistency. The consistency stinks. How does the playcalling compare to Spurrier or Meyer? Flat-out, it does not!!! Am I expecting too much from the playcalling? Hell no, this is the Florida Gators and I am going to hold the Gators to a higher standard!!!

Well krypt, tough to argue with that. But realisticly UF is nowhere near (nor has been) near the standard of SOS / Urban. My post was more about Napier surviving.
Now your post is another subject entirely, does Gator Nation (want) CBN to survive? I think the boards and podcasts are clear, the answer is NO, but I am not so cynical I am hoping for failure, I gots to cheer our team on.

I would "agree" with the writer of this article if Mertz is ineffective or tamu starts to jump ahead and UF needs a "shot in the arm" and Napier keeps
    playing Mertz.

I have already expressed my opinion, the flow of the game and game situations could affect this statement, but IMO if Mertz is not effectively moving
the offense (scoring) Napier would be a fool not to "switch QB's" after a couple of series, 3 at the most.

The author seems to suggest its Mertz all day long. Of course the author may be right. If he is, and UF is in a tight situation, or worse, getting blasted,
a "Mullenesk" decision to keep playing the same guy, when you have a stud on the bench, will be, well, a match to gasoline for the UF fan base, including myself.

I would like to think Napier is not that stubborn. He DID say in the presser yesterday he intended to play both and do whats best for the team.
    I hope he means it.

The other really huge issue for UF does not involve the QB's, it involves the defense. I still have NIGHTMARES about Trasks final year and UF's first loss that season to Jimbo and tamu. They ran a stupid up the gut all day long and the defense had no answers.

We will find out Saturday if UF is up to the task of playing big boy SEC football on BOTH lines of scrimmage.

Makes sense Crusher, naming Mertz right now makes no sense, make tamu prepare for both, and btw I watched Billys presser yesterday and I DID NOT hear him name a starter.

Point well taken, concussions are serious matters. But your fall might not have had that effect with a helmet on. Hoping Graham's helmet saved him from long lasting effects!

I am not down with this.

His son plays football for aTm. I don't want a 2 bits who has divided loyalties and only shows up here when his child is here or it's a once in a decade event.
