Percy at TT made the offense go! Let's not forget the Spin the Wheel Play calling meme under Mullen. His calls were very predictable, but Tebow and company covered up his warts.

Additionally, Mullen ran TT (over 16 rushes per game) more in 2007 than AA did in 2009 (15.5 rushes per game). It was Mullet that wanted to run him into the ground and built his "genius" on the back of TT.

A couple of years? Meyer had seven years at Ohio State and six years at Florida, with a combined record of 148-24 (.860)...

Not happening. Love him or hate him, his brand/style of dealing with young adults (17-20 year olds) is no longer envogue. He should enjoy his time sitting at a desk.

This is the dumbest thread we’ve had in a long time. Urbs is damaged goods at this point. Half of Gator Nation won’t even consider inducting him into the ROH, yet now want him back for a 2nd run as our head coach?

    This is straight up buffoonery

Not sure why you believe that. Soldiers and sailors still compete to join the Rangers, Special Forces and SEALs, and they are treated far worse than Meyer treats players...

At the very least, if we decide to change coaches, I would put Urban on the search committee, (which we should have this time). I think that would ensure we hired someone competent.

Not true. Mullen was the fallback plan. Chip was all but in, but his girlfriend didn’t like Gainesville. We reached out to Frost, but he interviewed poorly. SS saved face and called Mullen when Tennessee was going to offer him. The rest is history.

That might very well be, but that could also just be a rumor with nothing behind it all. My points stands. We don’t get to know what really happens in these coaching searches, and as much or more complete BS leaks out with any truth.

Chip was the guy, even sent Fuchs up to meet him, dodged a bullet, he's another Mullen, just wants to call plays and not deal with being head coach.

Spurrier and Foley didn’t have the greatest of relationships towards the end there. I think not backing him up on the FSU late hit thing was what started it. Then asking him to submit a resume when he took the Carolina job was the nail in the coffin.

This is a heavily PR’ed piece (as Mullen was our coach and was successful at the time), but it has a lot of the details of the coaching search leading up to hiring Mullen.

Maybe he’s beyond an OC position, which is what he’s suited for.

Football players and their parents, arent soldiers. His style didnt work in the NFL...why would it work, at this point, in college. Its not happening.

Wasn't it working at OSU just a couple years before he went to the NFL?

Spurrier's and Saban's style didn't work in the NFL, either. I can't believe you compare the college game to the NFL...

Lane was not happy about the crowd leaving early with Ole Miss up to return to the Grove.
