Illegal Alien Arrested for Voting In U.S. Elections (townhall.com)

42-year-old Angelica Maria Francisco was taken into custody after it was revealed she had been illegally voting in both the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections. She was charged with “false claims of citizenship in connection with voting, false statements in application for a United States passport, use of a United States passport obtained by false statements, and aggravated identity theft.”

Francisco agreed to plead guilty to all charges. According to court documents, the illegal immigrant, who has been residing in Alabama, stole the identity of an American citizen in 2011 and used it to obtain a passport and register to vote.

For instance, the Heritage Foundation pointed out that more than 11,000 illegal aliens have been on Virginia’s voter roll in the past ten years, with at least 616 known non-citizens on the state’s voter registration system within the last couple of years. Arizona also encountered a similar issue, finding that more than 200 illegal immigrants have been found on the state’s voter rolls since 2021.

House and Senate Republicans are working to pass the SAVE Act, which would protect federal elections against illegal immigrants voting.

And yet our local libbies will claim nothing to see as usual

She wasn't allowed to vote as an illegal alien - she stole a citizen's identity. It's a false equivalence to try and push the SAVE act since this type of voter fraud would be extremely rare.

Not voting for either trump or harris, but why would anyone be against having to show your ID to vote? Anyone against showing ID to vote is simply wanting it because they think it helps their side. Zero other reason to be against voter ID laws.

Alabama requires an ID to vote, and she had one.

Having to show ID is fine conceptually but it's solving a mass fraud problem that doesn't exist. You have to meet requirements to register to vote in the first place, and then when you vote, you'll have to at minimum provide your name and address which have to match to your voter registration.

It also opens up all sorts of possibilities to manipulate the system - charging fees to get an ID or closing locations that provide IDs in certain areas.

The article says there were 11,000 illegal aliens were known to be on Virginia's voter rolls over the past 10 years but then only 616 in the "past couple years." That doesn't mean 11,000 voted, that means they filled out a form and got purged for not being citizens.

Mass voter fraud is a myth.

If it is already illegal what exactly are we being saved from? Sorry, nothing to see here.

I’ll recall you said that following the next school shooting. “School shootings are already illegal. Problem solved.”

A voter ID law wouldn't have stopped her from voting. She stole the identity of an American citizen. She was able to illegally obtain a US passport, the gold standard for identification. If she had to present an ID she would have simply presented any one of the IDs that she were issued to her through fraud.

This is a whole bunch of words for saying you don't support ID to vote. Got it.

I don't support creating new problems to solve a problem that doesn't exist. If there was a way to guarantee that everyone had easy access to a free ID then I'd be more supportive but that would not be the case.

Not talking about just this situation. Why wouldn't we check ID's when voting? I think the poor people don't have ID garbage is just that, garbage. Just don't understand why requiring an ID to vote is some type of voter suppression. Literally almost every country requires an ID and only citizens to able to vote. I also think we should have a federal holiday for voting as well as offering anyone who doesn't have a state issue ID to get one for free if they want to vote.

New problem that doesn't exist? How do we know with certainty that no problem exists? We literally require an ID for almost everything in this country. Sorry but that is the biggest BS excuse I've heard. Why did the US require everyone to show ID to get the covid shot?

Because every state runs audits and we've never uncovered a major problem which we absolutely would have if it existed. It wouldn't be hard at all to identify tens of thousands of illegal aliens voting.

There wasn't any major problems with people getting covid shots yet we were required to show ID. Why?

Why does almost every country but the US require ID to vote?

Trump supporters abandoned logic and critical thinking years ago. It's the only way to accept the brainwashing required.

Voter ID laws are trying to solve for a problem that doesn't exist. Several studies from different elections all show average fraud vote count to be somewhere between 1 in 50,000 to 1 in 100,000 on average. In 2020, using 1 in 50k, that's not enough to overturn the election.

1 person in Alabama isn't either. Nor is 600 total possible votes in Arizona. And time and time again, recounts and audits have shown elections to be valid.

What having to show ID does do is create another barrier to voting
. One that disproportionately effects the elderly and minorities. And again, a it's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist is any large scale.

Explain to me how fraud can be committed on a large enough scale to flip an election because an ID is not required. Should be pretty simple if I'm stupid for thinking voter fraud isn't a major problem.
