Biggest part of Lanes problems at SC was the probation and loss of scholarships. And he was a too young punk. That was a good while ago.

I watched the highlights of the Ole Miss game yesterday and as the game was coming to an end, the announcer stated that this was the 24th game that Ole Miss had gained over 600 yards under Kiffin. Prior to Kiffin becoming their coach, Ole Miss had gained more 600 yards 16 times.

I assume these numbers are accurate or close to it. If so, it gives another indication of how Kiffin does on offense. I have my doubts that he would leave for Florida but his style fits much more closely with the speed and skills that topflight Florida high school players have.

While I agree with the sentiment, I doubt coaches have much to do with scheduling.

He should have been hired instead of Napier.

IDK… is the Dolphins job better that the panthers? Kiffin can recruit well at OM because he has a good NIL organization. I do not know if he built that or if he just benefits from it.

If life is so great as a UF coach, how come Spurrier and Meyer--our greatest coaches every-told us to pound sand and walked out the door?
And from the looks of it we are about to fire our 4
And those coaches who won those three natties told us to pound sand and walked out on us. Remember that? Guess they got sick of something. And now we appear ready to fire our 4th consecutive coach, none of whom made it 4 complete years before being fired. Every coach UF has had since 1970 either walked out on us, or was fired. FACT. Don't think that has gone unnoticed.

People like you are completely delusional. Fair or not, we are regarded as a spoiled, entitled and unreasonable fan base, and our history with coaches lends considerable support for this sentiment. While delusional gator fans think every coach would want to come here, that sentiment is reserved for gator fans. Chip Kelly sure as hell didn't want to come here.

I have considerable connections to Mississippi; my wife was from there, and she and my daughter went to Ole Miss. I know a Reb booster who would personally stroke a check for 2-3 million, if that would keep Kiffen. Given that they are already paying Kiffen-about $3million more than Napier--do you really think UF is going to pony up that kind of money, plus a $4 million buyout to bring him here and then pay Napier $26 million in a buy out? I sure as hell don't. More delusional thinking. You can forget winning a bidding war, particularly since a lot of UF boosters don't like Kiffin, given his history.

If Kiffen comes to UF, it will be because of ego, and ego only. He will come because he wants to win a Natty, and with the Florida recruiting base, he thinks he will have a much better chance of that. But given his massive flameout at USC, he may not want to deal with that pressure and our fans, when he will already be getting paid just as well.

I don't know what he will do, but I can tell you, it won't be over money.

Give us all a break. These are horrible takes. Spurrier was offered an absurd amount of money by Dan Snyder and wanted to try out the NFL. After 12 seasons with the Gators, he left and even today, when he could easily be enjoying retirement at his age, he is working for UF. Told us to pound sand, yet he is still employed by us? Meyer left because Meyer wasn't taking care of his demons. If he told us to pound sand, I guess he did that to his alma mater too. You can see his eyes light up anytime he talks about UF.

As if UF doesn't have rich boosters. You really think Ole Miss boosters have more money to throw around than UF boosters? LOL, dumb. And yes, UF will pay for the security of not enduring another Zook / Muschamp / McElwain / Mullen / Napier.

And you talk about Kiffin's ego as a dig.. but most coaches of his stature have an ego. Comes with the territory.

If UF wants to swim with the big fish, they are going to have to pay up. Google ten highest college coaching football buyouts 247 sports. Number 1 is Smart at 92.6 million and number 10 is Cutty Sark at 54.3 million. Napiers 26 million is peanuts in today’s environment. There are some head scratchers in the 2 thru 9 area. If UF can’t scratch up 26 million + for everyone that needs to be let go, we are in a world of doo doo as a supposed player in college football.

I'm not knocking Kiffin for ego. Just saying that is the only reason he would come.

Spurrier was sick of us dude. Sorry you didn't have the connections to know this.

One seemed to believe he was at the time. As for the rest, every single one of them went on to incredible sucess at their next job, making UF clearly regret every single one of their departures.

WUT?? Who are you talking about? I'm talking about head coaches. Assistants that left had middling success, only

As for head coaches, only Meyer went on to success. Spurrier crashed and burned in the NFL, did well for a few years at USC, and then walked out mid-season as a result of his program having collapsed.

Ah, the Mike Leach method. That’s how you know if a coach is truly loyal, unlike, say, Nick Saban, who “walked out” on Alabama last year.
