I never liked Cheney, but his endorsement of Harris, and more importantly his criticism of Trump, is not insignificant. We've never seen so former associates, staff members or fellow party members turn against a candidate like this, have we? Are any Trump supporters addressing that at all, or just criticizing Cheney and Democrats?
Funny then that you don't see the projection and irony in Cheney's words: “He can never be trusted with power again.”
Cheney was a neocon warmonger responsible in part for the wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Yes I know the war in Suria started in 2021bu5 it was planned out years in advance. Cost of those wars could reach $10 Trillion Trump is anti"war
"He can never be trusted with power again." But you can, Dick Cheney? You lied to the American people about WMD in Iraq. You killed thousands of our sons and daughters. You spent hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to accomplish nothing more than to line the pockets of your oil exec buddies in Texas. Iraq is still a quagmire 20+ years later. And you Dick Cheney are going to tell us someone can never be trusted with power again?? The projection is that he knows he's the one that can't be trusted with power and the true enemy of the people. The irony comes with that.
I don't think Cheney is asking to be trusted with power. But I am glad you realize the Iraq war was a mistake.
Nobody claimed Cheney was asking to be trusted with power again, but if he ever did, you know your party wouldn't stop talking about his debauchery in Iraq. Yet, you appear to be welcoming his endorsement. More irony...
And if Clinton or Obama or Gore ... endorsed Trump you'd be welcoming that. And for good reason. It'd be very significant. It not's something that Democrats could dismiss with a simple "Well, we never liked him anyway ..." like you're trying to do with Cheney. Again, there's a reason so many who either worked with Trump or have been longtime stalwart Republicans are now rejecting him. And it's not just because of mean, stupid tweets.
No, I wouldn't and frankly, I'd be concerned if any of them did endorse Trump. That said, I would be even more concerned if Dick Cheney endorsed Trump. I'm ecstatic he endorsed Harris. Music to my ears. There are quite a few Democratic operatives around the country that face-palmed when Cheney endorsed her. It's not the type of fanfare they are looking for. Dude left office with a 13% approval rating. He is not popular at all. You look silly trying to score points with his endorsement.
