No commercials is addicting. There's at least an hour adjustment period for me when I switch over in the afternoon. That said, I think their approach to player acquisition/payment/etc. is superior. And not just superior, but vastly superior and fairer (for the players).

No surprise they still have the passion we used to have for our teams, passion that will steadily decline with this cynical new "system" (see: chaos).

How do you want them to pay for the insane amount of money they give to the schools every year?

That was the way to head this all off (as I've been saying for decades), but the greed got in the way. NFL didn't want to pony up for the ML and the usual parasites wanted to make theirs off college kids.

You think Manchester United doesn't get TV money? LOL!

One team? And I have no idea, I've never watched or had any interest in watching Manchester United. I know that there's super weird rules on soccer broadcasting though.

Not saying soccer players aren’t great athletes; I just can’t watch the game. I’d rather sit and watch paint peel.
Our kids all played it and it was a good sport for them and they were all quite good. But, I’m not sure they ever liked it so much.

All the big teams have TV networks/independent deals. Plus they get PL TV revenue, which gives more to the popular teams due to their popularity. Not a fan of that last part, but it is what it is. NBC isn't paying billions for the US TV package to show Southampton vs. Leister.

ESPN IS paying billions to broadcast college football in the US though, and they have to raise that money somehow.

I don't really gaf about how they do tv in Europe though. Never been there, and probably won't be watching soccer on TV while I'm there if I ever do.

That's the way they feel about our football, where there is 20 minutes of actual play over a 4-hour game. Imagine having to stomach that after a lifetime of watching 45-60 minute blocks without commercials. The hitting is the most exciting part and they're slowly getting rid of that. I'm done. I've already seen the best American Football has to offer. The Gators, RedZone and my fantasy team are the only things I pay attention to anymore. And I actually get more jacked for Tottenham games than anyone else, Gators included.

Cool. Then don't listen to alternative ideas and just keep riding this dying, hopelessly flawed horse then. No worries. I'm sure you'll get to have your cake and eat it too.

Here's a novel idea. Less commercials but more $$$ per commercial? Nah, makes too much sense.

So do it. I'm not making any of these decisions. Whining here isn't going to change how things are done.

True. They don't, why should you?

Unfortunately for you, their sport is spreading. So, saddle up Jr, you're going to get more of it whether you like it or not.

Obviously not. . . as evidenced by this complete cluster of a system that seems to benefit agents more than anyone.

Lol, it's not spreading to my television. I will not be watching any more of it than I am right now. My remote works. It changes channels, it turns the tv off. Does all kinds of neat things.

Yeah, but the world around you is. There's a reason NBC doubled its previous deal to keep the EPL rights. It's actually exploding in the US. Not MLS, the real deal, EPL.

and having agents and NFL execs on the board makes no friggin sense at all. Neither would have UF interest's at heart. Dumb idea

I care what you watch, why? Does NBC have a deal with the Gators/SEC? So again, I care, why? Are you being paid to market soccer in the US? Do they not have a soccer board somewhere for you to hang out? What does any of this have to do with gator football?

You could have just scrolled on, but you chose not to. Why? Or a better question, why are you so threatened by it? Cool, don't watch. And when someone mentions is, scroll on. Not that hard Sunshine!

And I know it makes you mad every time you see it on TV. . . and I LOVE that!!!
