Probable. I would guess there are a number of criteria an AD has to be good at. If hiring a football coach is his only deficiency, and his bosses want to keep him, they will oversee the hiring process.

Some vacancies are much easier to fill than others. Example; if Walton, Holloway, or Sully left, the best coaches in the country would be lining up to replace them.

 

That sounds right. And then there's the mysterious black hole jobs like our women's basketball program which can't seem to catch a break. Carol Ross was encouraged to go elsewhere because no one else at the time was Pat Summitt, and it's been either mediocre or a mess ever since, despite the resources put into it.

Generally speaking, our non revenue sports are extremely well funded and resourced in comparison to other schools, which is why so many of them are as successful as they are. You'd think top coaches would be eager to be a part of a system like that, but maybe some of these sports are snakebit.

A lot of work, a lot of talent, and a lot of luck for everything to fall into place. Perfect storms come around, but they’re few and far between for most of us.

 

It like discussing who should or could have been hired instead of coach x, y, or z a decade ago. Or discussing who will be hired this go around and what their contract terms should be. Or threads for every dumbass retard in their basement doing a podcast. Pretty much every conversation here is useless and unproductive in the grand scheme of things.

 

I tend to believe he and his staff are not great evaluators, nor do they coach well.

If there isn't a massive difference by Game 4, he's gone. A&M and FSU appear to have opened up for us to win and if we can't beat A&M at home, I'm not sure there is another game we can win. There are a couple of easier games but those are on the road (I haven't forgotten UCF is a home game) and we don't win on the road very much, maybe once a season we win a road game. If we don't have a winning record headed into the Georgia game, we are guaranteed a losing season, possibly as bad as 1-11, but most likely 3-9.

 

It’s one or the other. If he had a wad of cash and bought reserves, good lord.

 

No 2 ways about it ladies and Gentleman but that was just some foul ass football. Been seeing the same quality since he's been here. We got sold a bill of goods this off season by the staff and most of these talking heads that want clicks for pay. Where is the real hard to hear but honest assessments of what we are and have been seeing?
