It doesn't take critical thinking to understand, if the defender is on the WR right, throw the ball to the left. Neither one was to the left. Throw him open.

Offense yes. Defense not so much.

It’s starting to become more apparent why Dabo kicked Billy in the ass, packed his bags, and told him not to come back.

Even a stubborn behind the times HC was ahead of the curve on Billy.

Did we ever get the story as to why Dabo sacked the Nap? Seems like something that needed to be addressed in detail before giving someone a 7 year $40M deal.

And I’m watching Josh Braun and they are talking about his performance Saturday. Another one of our big mistakes and there were many that said Braun was not a big loss. Seems to me now there was probably a reason Braun wanted to leave as many others have. Could probably use him right now.

As Urban recently said, "Florida football is painful to watch." Hopefully he does something about it.

Said it last year during the season, never put off today what must be done eventually. Hiring an OC should’ve been an ultimatum. Billy is delusional and just thinks if he has ‘his players’ his scheme will work. It doesn’t. Two seasons was enough to see the concept was bad. No identity at all. Other than play inside the hashes, play conservative, and a bunch of motion to disguise a very small number of plays…with an odd ball trick play once a game. I’m beating a dead horse and think I finally have it out of my system.

It was mentioned in one of these threads. Literally the same issues we have now.

I’m in the minority but I’d take Dabo with condition of also hitting a ‘GM’ to manage portal and NIL and the latter gets to overrule on roster decisions.

Re: the offense Mertz had quite the poor performance and they still haven't fixed the problem at RT. Say what you want about the scheme and how it's not muh air raid but there are plays to be made. It's obvious that the coaches don't have the guys ready to perform and nothing is crisp. I wanted Mertz to have a glorious season but he was so bad this game that if Lagway handles the cupcake easily then I think you have to ride him. Gotta be able to connect downfield.

It’s the margins. There are plays to be made, but we never seem to have those wide, wide open receivers

No thanks, don't need another coach stuck in his ways and refuses to use the portal.

Never thought of Wilson as a difference maker. Certainly not close to Harvin. He just looks good to Gator fans because we have so little real talent.

He is trying to be Lombardi with the Power Sweep. Vince was one of the greatest and had Hall of Famers executing it. As Spurrier said on Dooley’s podcast after the game, they have to try something different. I doubt it will happen though- even if he is at the end of the plank.

And I put that up to scheme. Our routes don’t put enough stress on the defense to cause mistakes/confusion and the margin for error in the scheme is razor thin.

If the right tackle is struggling, then chip the DE and/or have the RB help out on the edge and release if RT has it under control. Instead, he gets left on an island and got repeatedly beaten in the second half.
