I literally said Republicans were worse, but the Dems had the power to do something. (See ACA). They chose not to. Its really a societal issue. But politicians dont really care outside of making it a vote churner.
Are you seriously that obtuse or do you lack reading skills? My post was questioning how the lockdown was handled this morning. I am curious about when students were sent to the stadium, what procedures were followed in a very chaotic situation. Unfortunately, I’ve had to participate in far more lockdown/evacuation drills on a school campus than I would like. I’m assuming that you’ve never been involved in an active shooter drill at a high school.
You're referring to incompetent LEOs waiting around while the shooter was continuing to kill the students?
I thought he was referring to the side door that a teacher propped open giving the shooter access to the school. That was Uvalde.
Both happened at Uvalde. If the LEOs were properly led and had the balls to respond most of the deaths were probably avoidable, the school shooting in Nashville coming to mind.
Not sure what the issue is? This was posted to a political board. We have to wait like 5 days to make the thread political even though it was posted here for no other reason than to discuss the politics around it? What's with the libbies and wanting to censor everything online these days? Lighten up.
Actually, the teacher shut the door to the outside. The lock was broken. All interior doors should be locked at all times.
I have never been involved in an active shooter drill in high school. I’ve been involved in active shooter drills at work and have been involved in actual terrorist attacks overseas.
State of Florida just issued some updates to DOE Office of Safe Schools. Most of the updates indicate that the doors are to be locked and closed at all times with some exceptions. Biggest one is teachers have to keep their door closed unless they are standing there for kids coming and going at class change. I know that is going to make them mad that they have to get rid of their little wood wedge that keeps the door open for them.
I knew we would see the T&P early from some on the left side of the aisle. One day you will realize this really is a bipartisan issue. Mental health is real. We have done nothing but make it exponentially worse over the last few decades. And then decided to give the problem and major boost injection the last few years. We do need to pray for the people in the community dealing with this. We do need to be sensitive in our thoughts and comments. We all should back up before we start with the known one liners that do not provide any real substance to the discourse. This is not meant to be a shot at you @G8tas as we disagree politically. There are multiple others that have probably already posted T&Ps but I started with the first post with it on the thread. It was more of an observation/expectation/thought I felt I was going to address… With that said. We should have thoughts and prayers for the people of that community.
Correct. At my old school every door, interior and exterior, automatically locked and was shut during class. Nice swipe at teachers, though. It’s not that it’s going to make anyone “mad” but it is inconvenient if you have meet with a kid after school or run to restroom between classes.
