If Trump loses, expect a Republican civil war

Putin vowed to undermine the legitimacy of the US elections when Hillary, as SOS, said his election was rigged. He has succeeded beyond his wildest dreams with djt leading the charge.

OK, I guess your defense is you didn't just want to hit Pelosi and Harris, you wanted to injure them?

No. The biggest issue with the 2020 election was the traitor who lost and refused to accept the result.

The traitor who incited an attack on the Capitol Building.

The traitor who YOU apparently will be voting for. 106822651-1610409078172-wind-475x323.jpg

If Harris loses, I wonder if we wont get another woman candidate for a while, but you will see a long list of people jockeying for the top. Jefferies will be the congressional leader. The platform remains virtually the same, coalitions remain in place.

If Trump loses, I assume we will see his family fighting for a voice in the party, with MAGA extremists butting heads with conventional republicans that have gone silent or left the party who will try to push out a MAGA movement without an active Trump. Or maybe Trump stays active and tries to influence the party in his waning years, but his low energy delivery and small rallies suggest that the passion for his rambling is slowing and the lack of path to the presidency wont help his influence and relevancy. I agree with author. Civil war inevitable.

once the perceived quota is filled, the cries for meritocracy ring. Never mind a meritocracy requires all people to have a chance to compete on equal footing.

People are simple. "Whoa.. two women lost.. lets not run another". Who knows? Maybe I am wrong and people understand nuance. .Whitmire is a good candidate.

I don't know. I'd certainly hope that Americans' belief in America and our democracy is strong enough to prevent anything like that. But we've never had a losing candidate or his supporters react the way they have since 2020.
And that, unfortunately, is likely to be Trump's biggest contribution: The belief that the elections are rigged and that if my side lost, it must be because the other side cheated.

Those rioters were not protesting an election or trying to overturn it. They weren't wearing Biden merch or carrying Biden flags. They weren't openly declaring their actions were to support Biden. They aren't being honored by Democrats. Biden didn't make a song with them or pledge to give them pardons. Other than that, it's a pretty tight analogy.

It was an inappropriate Off Topic comment when you originally posted it, apparently failing to comprehend how offensive it was. A further weaselly comment addressed to "You fools," claiming it was a "made in jest," does not excuse or negate the hostile passive aggressive undertones of the post.

*Your actual comment was, "There are a few US women I would like to knock out. Nancy Pelosi are you out there? How about Kamala Harris?"

LMFAO! Yeah, only the last time that "happened" no one had any weapons... "Overthought our government?"

The TDS is strongly written in these words at the top.

No weapons except for the ones they had. How many people died? The body count was low but that was because people fled.

I remember the interim years after the 2020 election and the January 6 attempt to over throw our government, thankfully defeated. Concerned people posting here on this board, countless others writing and speaking of their concerns elsewhere, were mindfully cognizant of the power and threat Trump yet held and maintained across the nation. His devotees on this forum mocked the caution and the cautious. The skeptical among us who maintained their vigilance were charged with TDS. There were assurances, repeated reassurances the threat of Trump had been defanged, neutralized. He was done, finished, not coming back. Perhaps his MAGA acolytes even believed that themselves .... until they didn't.

Yeah.....The threat of Trump yet looms and will remain until it is finally defeated and gone from the scene. Even then there are those who will never forget and likely carry his banner into remembrance. This charge of Derangement Syndrome, prefaced variously with a B for Bush, an O for Obama, or a T for Trump, appears tho be an addition to our political lexicon.

It appears to me, color me cautious, there is legitimate fear of civil war if Trump loses. The credulous among us refused to accept his defeat in 2020. Why should we not be prepared for a similar rejection and more intense [read violent] reaction? There are those who want it, are preparing for it, think it is what God wants, believe it heralds the return of Jesus. Have they ever considered their misguided beliefs are what is driving the tension. They are the tools of self fulfilment that will trigger horrific violence to facilitate the establishment of their vision of a heaven on earth ruled by Jesus.

Everyone knows if that mob had gotten their hands on Pelosi et al they would have just shaken hands and played patty cake.
It would have gotten even uglier. They are just disappointed it did not work.
