Dude could have hedged against it by hiring an OC but he's too unaware and too stubborn to realize it. His undoing is all his own.
Ss is done too if you ask me. Football is king regardless of what some in the upper realms may think. It pays all the bills. Reality is going to set in if it hasn’t already. We are getting a new AD and coach or this train wreck is going to get worse. We just need some stability at this point and a gymnastics trophy isn’t going to do it. I do tune in to some other sports and I’m not down on them but women’s softball isn’t paying the bills just because I enjoy it.ive been working with a Bama fan for twenty years and I haven’t wanted to discuss football since his kids were born
They feel bad for our student athletes that are being let down, does this cost some guys a shot at the NFL? If that answer is yes, he needs to be gone yesterday.
The noise is so loud and so pervasive from so many sources that I don't see recruits sticking to their commitments. He could have used Saturday as a showcase instead he was still running no chance runs on 3rd and long over and over.
So, it’s after 5 o’clock on Tuesday, and Scott Stricklin has still not issued a double down statement of full confidence in Billy and the direction of the football program. Interesting.
I think the bare minimum for Napier to keep this job is five wins and no losses to any of the teams we are expected to beat this year: Samford, UCF, Miss St., or Kentucky. So he still needs to find a fifth win somewhere. I don't like those odds. It looks grim, no matter what kind of a "handshake deal" he had with the AD. The AD is on even thinner ice.
Changed my mind on my post. Lol. Going to just read comments for awhile. Will watch Dr Pepper Fansville commercials and wait with apprehension for the Samford game. Go Gators.
if he is kept, it means he proved his worth and won many games on this schedule and showed he might actually be a good coach. I don't see that happening. I expect Tenn, UGA, Texas, Ole miss to blow us out. I'd be stunned if we beat A&M, i think another poor showing against A&M, he's given his walking papers, and at the same time so is Stricklin. Sunday Sept 15th will be the end of both of them.
If you posted more than a 1,000 times... I might even read your post in its entirety, but I could not get past your first paragraph. But please feel free to opine on this subject at the end of the season. I might even read all of that post.
We could go small, like Vandy. But would we be as competitive ? Vandy looks like it could win 5 or 6 this year.
I think I will be spending New Years Eve in Vegas with Demi Moore and the girlfriend of her choice before that happens. P.S. We won’t be shaking hands…..
I think if the losses are close he might have a chance, but lets be honest, we got blown out on Saturday, that happens 2-3 more times it's over.
The GNP guys had a way forward I liked that is similar to Bud that was starting with new AD, then a GM to handle personnel, NIL, profit share, recruiting etc. Then finally a HC whose job is to just coach and be 100% focused on development and X and Os. I think the term they used was to "de-brand" the coach. Players come to UF the institution and not the coach, with the expectation that UF will have a top tier coaching staff to work with regardless of wether or not it is the same coach. Would it work, no idea, but it sure would be nice if UF actually trying to be out in front and innovate rather than lag behind like they did on facilities and NIL.
In order to beat SWAC, he has to still be the head coach by the SWAC game. I don't like those chances if he does not have five wins, including the four I mentioned, come November.
