That should be grounds for instant termination and void his buyout, that also showed on Sat he gives 0 f***s about winning at UF.

The only part that I know for a fact is the part that Napier himself said in a presser... I suspect Miami practiced our schemes all summer long, because they looked like they knew what we were doing the whole game.

As goofy as Cristobal is he takes the game much more serious than Napier, they absolutely prepared every waking moment for UF. Meanwhile Napier was too busy blowing smoke up our rears while MC is cleaning his clock in recruiting and smashed him in the mouth on the field.

Saw a quote from the Miami DC that also disturbed me (tying they back to the thread title)….

“We took the top 5 to 7 plays that showed up in every game last year: a reverse, crossing route, tailback screen- and I’ll be danged if the first four or five plays those showed up “ Guidry said.

That is unreal. I assumed opposing teams know what Billy is calling since I know what he is calling but to finally see another team state it’s unreal.

When you have all summer to prepare for one game, you should take MORE than one week to focus on your opponent.

Spike, this should be sitting on Billy’s desk in the morning when he arrives. Talk about predicable play calling! Sheeesh!

I think we Gator fans can take losing a game here and there if we see some improvement, some development, some strategy, some halftime adjustments, some time management, some refrain from committing bonehead penalties, something/anything. But, when the head coach tries to be funny by making a stupid ass joke at the expense of loyal fans in the state; that is inexcusable and shows he can’t stand the heat, so he needs to get out of the Swamp. Most fans have been more than patient with Napier during his tumultuous tenure here - they don’t deserve to be treated like this! He is not being honest with himself or the Gator fans.

Yeah, I’d seen that and commented on it in another thread. It is like Billy is coaching a pop Warner team and all the kids get to play 1 quarter and/or is worried some parents in the stands will be mad their kid didn’t play.

in Manuel’s case…if he did well and deserved to play - how about play right tackle? Move him and get him some practice reps. Damn.

If anyone knows my history they know that I have been very critical of both the football and basketball programs' directions. However, the only way to pull out of this doldrum is to be patient. We have the talent, not top tier, but good enough to be a winning program, but if Gator Nation does not get behind the staff and players 1000%, every little mistake is going to be magnified a thousand times for the coaching staff and the players.

Golden has done some impressive things with the basketball program, and Napier will get these players to where they need to be.

This thrashing was a wake-up call. We know we are going to win this weekend, so the onus is on dominating the game this weekend and gearing up for TAMU. They are under an identity crisis also. They were a complete embarrassment last year and have already lost their first game this year. If Lagway has a great game on Saturday, it is time to pass the torch.

Have Mertz come in to give Lagway a breather on certain possessions, but there is no sense driving around in a KIA when you have a Maserati in the garage.

Here is a portion of an article written by Bleacher Report about Napier being fired from Clemson. I posted last season and it's right around the time when we were all discussing him needing an OC. The bold sections are pretty damn telling if you ask me.

Napier was especially young to be a coordinator at age thirty, and was a questionable hire last year for the Tigers. After serving up a 9-4 campaign in his first season, his offense in 2010 would suffer a below average performance in 2010, especially at the quarterback and wide receiver positions.

His lack of success in 2010 was due to his predictability on offense. The play calling was conservative, and his offenses failed to develop any kind of identity at any point during the season, even when Andre Ellington was healthy. His tendencies were easy to read, as noted in the Boston College game, the players and personnel knew if the play was under center, it was a run; if it was in the shotgun, it was a pass.

Those tendencies coupled with conservative play calling equaled the dismal, below average offense that would end up with a losing record of 6-7.

Dude hasn't changed. He's not an SEC caliber HC.

What have you watched in the last two seasons and this past Saturday that would make you think that is even remotely possible?

I call BS. He may have graduated from UF but he is more of a Miami fan. Even if true, it doesn’t say to Florida.
