If Trump loses, expect a Republican civil war

Conservatives can read the tea leaves and are starting to consider what the Republican Party will look like after a Trump loss. Conservative writer and Bush campaign creative team director is predicting a Republican Civil War if Trump loses.

    Questions:
    1. Does Trump go quietly if he loses?
    2. Who can pull the Republican Party back together after becoming a party of personality?

If Trump loses, expect a Republican civil war

To have one family in complete control of a major national political party is an aberration in our country. Daughter-in-law Lara Trump, installed as co-chair of the Republican National Committee in March, naively spoke the truth in February when she said of its fundraising, “Every single penny will go to the number one and the only job of the RNC — that is electing Donald J. Trump as president of the United States…”

That aside, a Trump loss inevitably means an internal civil war within the Republican Party. I believe a “war” is inevitable between the all-powerful Trump forces and those who want to move on from the Trump era and win the White House in 2028 without any Trump family members on the ticket.

Like all civil wars, this one could be brutal, because the GOP opposition forces see in Trumpism a political dead-end with a shrinking voter base. Today, identifying as a Republican is not about conservative governing principles but automatic loyalty to Trump, with his MAGA troops in control of the party machinery from top to bottom.

So who would it be? Some names are familiar and obvious: Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), who each look in the mirror and see a future president. Add a new name with popular Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp (R), who has had a contentious history with Trump — haven’t they all, though? That experience will embolden these leaders to forge a new path for the party, maybe led by one of them, or else a new leader will emerge.

If Trump loses ... I'm going to laugh my ass off when he immediately declares he's running again and continues to run the party into the ground as their 82 year old presumptive nominee for 2028. All reasonable people will understand he's only in it for the grift, but he's still going to be the favorite.

With just a little bit of luck for Lady Justice, he will still be in prison in 2028.

I was going start a op on this but post it here.
Study showing Maga is more likely to support violence. they are becoming more irrational.

“A growing body of research [16], assessments by experts in domestic violent extremism [7], and events such as the insurrection of January 6, 2021 have raised concern about the prospect of widespread political violence in the United States (US).

“MAGA Republicans, as defined, are more likely than others to endorse political violence. They are not more willing to engage in such violence themselves; their endorsement may increase the risk that it will occur.”

“Three items addressed the central elements of the QAnon mythology and a separate religious belief (Table 5, S4 Table in S1 File). MAGA Republicans were much more likely than others to agree strongly or very strongly that US institutions “are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation”

MAGA Republicans’ views of American democracy and society and support for political violence in the United States: Findings from a nationwide population-representative survey

I suspect it will be short lived. Basically trump will become obsolete and the true deplorables he lured out of the trailer parks to vote for him go back to not voting or being super unenthusiastic about whoever gets their nomination like Romney or Bush.

Actually there was very little violence on Jan 6. My prediction is if Kamala loses there will be 10X the violence there was on Jan 6. Buildings will burn.

It almost sounds like some folks are hoping for this. I certainly am not.

2020 was messed up when you had:
    * FBI pressuring social media to exclude/block and promote certain information
    * Courts changing election procedures, in contradiction to law requiring legislatures to change procedures.

No funny business is 2024 and you won't provide Trump a chance to whine.

You fools get a lot of mileage out of a post made in jest over a year ago don't you?....If you are going to quote me please quit misquoting. My comment was in a thread Titled US Women knocked out. To which I simply responded there were few US women I'd like to knock out. So so silly, grow up.

Trump will whine if he loses. The elections of 2016 and 2020 were free and fair elections. Although it didn't matter in the end even though he won in 2016 Trump claimed that he would have also won the popular vote were it not for [fictional] illegal massive voting for undocumented immigrants. He couldn't accept his defeat in 2020 and orchestrated a fortunately failed coup d'état in attempt to prevent the peaceful transition of power.

Trump's campaign challenged the change in election procedures in court over 60 times and with maybe a single exception his campaign lost every challenge.

Wanting to commit violence against women all because you don’t agree with their politics is so funny, hahaha!

The January 6th rioters were violent scumbags but at least they took on other men and weren’t knocking out women.

Trump won in 2016 and the government transitioned peacefully. He lost in 2020 and it didn’t.

No I believe May 31st was the day of violent protests in DC. Much much more violent than Jan 6th.
