..aw Jeez, basements in rural central Florida Billy? :(

One would need to have a hilly land (with levels) topologically to modify their property in having a basement. Then with all of these tropical storms & hurricanes, there would be a great risk of flooding in the basement...

If anything, Napier is putting the Florida Gators Football team in the basement of college football expectations and the SEC season has not even started yet!

Billy should know better than use the word basement for anything other than description of our program under him. Tone deaf definition.

Spurrier didn't get the message that they played some pretty solid fundamental football. Played hard. had Some good things on tape. Just gotta clean things up a little.

Man. I'm beating a dead horse with this one but after seeing the comparison of Two different coaches I just want someone who exudes some passion. I realize champ and Zook were the opposite end of that spectrum but jeez, this isn't medical sales or financial advising. Stop with this business man professional image. Playing with pure emotion is bad in assignment based sports but you do have to have some fire.

Billy has been around football enough to know the drill; here’s are some things I would do if I was in his shoes (at a post terrible home beat down game):
    I would not lie.
No need to state the obvious about being disappointed.
Never compliment the opposing team, it’s not about them.
Stand up straight, look people in the eye, answer all questions without making fun of anyone, etc.
    Tell the group what your plans are moving forward;
Taking each game one at a time, prepare only for the next game.
The Miami game is over, we move on.
    Accountability:
First off, I will not continue to call the offensive plays.
Whoever commits a dumb penalty (like roughing the passer) will not play the rest of the half, at a minimum.
Whoever continues to miss assignments, miss tackles, etc will be removed from the game for as long as I deem necessary.
Every player and coach will commit to giving everything they have at every practice and game; failure to do so may cause you not to play or coach for as long as I deem necessary.
No player positions are guaranteed - starting positions will be determined after the final practice before the next game.
What we can assure the loyal fans is the team and coaches will treat each game like it’s the last game they will ever play or coach.

They are generating that $60 mil from the tv every year though. Maybe nape should tell them they aren’t needed.

At Florida, there's no excuse not to know how to handle yourself in a press conference after a gut-wrenching loss at home. There's a really nice plaque right outside the stadium with a detailed set of instructions.

No kidding I’ve been critical of the guy since about game 4 season 1. I let up midway through the year last year until the FSU game and the class went to crap.

I wonder how many people here who were “all in” are even still in the boat with this guy.

Spurrier seemed surprised when he found out Napier was calling plays. I thought that was weird as he should have known that but his expression said more than his words did.

Spurrier also added that we warm up an hour and a half before the game outside in 100 degree heat and that other teams don't do that. He said stop doing that.

Brought up Syracuse loss and that sometimes you just have to change things. Does not sound like Napier feels the same.

Also, Dooley said there was absolutely no yelling in the Gators lockeroom by Napier or anyone else. That doesn't work in football.
