There is currenrly no one at the university willing to make a decision that will cost around $35 million: fire Napier, Stricklin, the assistants, and buy out another coach. Fuchs will simply say I’m the interim prez here to get the university along until you find a new prez.

So, I haven't read any of the posts yet... I'll save that for when I'm at work!

I'm sure this has probably been said a dozen times already in the various threads since Saturday, but we look EXACTLY THE SAME! Seriously, what changed? On Saturday we were the exact same team as we have been for the past few years. I don't know what to say.....

Even if Miami is finally "Back"... yeah, we would have lost the game to a good team. I just wanted to see us progress. We did not. Clearly.

Oh, and if Miami isn't really "Back", then we are in some serious deep doo-doo!

    Nothing will change.

Napier is convinced that if he sticks to “the process” everything that has been dysfunctional will somehow become wonderful.

He will not change schemes, he will not let go of OC duties, he will not let go of the 2 OL coach failed experiment, he won’t hire a qualified, dedicated special teams coach, he won’t stop being the lethargic, uninspiring , lackasadical coach he is and start lighting fires and stripping paint off the walls, and he won’t change anything else.

Continuing to do the same and expecting different results. By any other standard it’s called insanity. By Billy’s standards it’s called “the process.”

    We have one record remaining……

The continuous streak of not being shutout. I think it is in serious jeopardy this year. We had to kick a field goal late in the LV bowl two years ago to keep it going after being manhandled all game. We may not get that opportunity this year.

That $35mil is unfunded too, they will need someone to fund it, and that’s the BIG problem. Passing the hat around likely won’t get there either, it’s a big nut. Scott purposely allowed Sexton to structure the contract out more to prevent this from happening, imho.

And the play call was a toss 4 yards behind the LOS, so we needed the RB to create his own hole and plow over enough defenders for a gain of 9 yards to get the 1st down.

I just finished watching USC vs LSU from recording, two teams that got new coaches the same year as us, so well coached, they were light years ahead of us, we really sucked. No way to compete against these guys. Say all you want about Lincoln Riley and Brian Kelly, they sure can coach. Time to pay up and get a proven guy. We are UF, a premier football powerhouse and not some unknown teams from Sun Belt.

Given Florida’s track record, doesn't appear we are going to shell out the money to get "that guy".

Just look at the hires since Spurrier:

    Zook- career position coach
    Meyer- Utah head coach
    Mushchamp- career position coach
    Mac- CSU head coach
    Mullen- MSU head coach
    Napier - ULL head coach

Only one was a P5 coach that was highly sought after.

    ================

What we need more than anything is a PROVEN Offensive Coordinator!

If the interim president won’t make obvious decisions then he’s not an interim president, he’s just a grifter

I’m pretty sure he sees this as a favor to UF given Sasse stepped down abruptly. Whoever fires Napier, Stricklin, the assistants, and a bunch of support staff has a big responsibility. Kinda hard to pin that on the guy doing the university a favor. The Board of Regents needs to move it with regards to finding a new prez.

Whelp, ya got that right! I'm proud to be a Gator. I love the kids, this batch of players are refreshing. And, with some effort they'll continue to improve. That doesn't mean this old fart won't question the effort at times when puzzling things happen on the field of play.

Expectations often cause problems if the events don't turn out as expected. I'm not sure if Miami had our number, or if they are really good. Miami just seemed locked and loaded. Time will tell.

If we feel crappy, I can't imagine how the kids feel. But, they're all semi-pro now and they'll have to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous misfortune, (social media abuse) along with the glory of victory when that kicks in.

Here's to a better effort this weekend. 300/100 for Lagway!

    It's great to-be a Florida Gator.

    Go Gators.:)

We have at least two coaches that could change things around immediately for the better, but there are tender feeling that might get hurt if we hire them.

I agree. We are bad, and there are too many good teams on the schedule. And I'm sure that any one of those teams would love to be the one that ends the streak. In other words, even if they can look at our matchup as an "easy win" for them, they aren't going to take it easy because they will want to end the streak...

Nah, I thought we all now sing "We won't back down!"

We certainly didn't back down. We just sank to the floor and curled up into the fetal position. But we didn't back down, by Gawd!
