Stricklin needs to be fired today!!! No excuse to allow this to happen and to permit it to continue. He has made us worse than Mississippi State. As long as he is here we are doomed to perpetual mediocrity.

Though I think he's a dead man walking, I don't expect a week 1 firing. A loss to Samford may do it, though. If we win next week, then we have a stretch of five games that before the season most had predicted us going somewhere between 3-2 and 5-0. Zero wins over those games no longer seems impossible and even getting to three would take a substantial turnaround from what we saw against Miami. Going into the bye week before UGA 1-6 or 2-5 seems like a very justifiable time to let him go and see if an interim can light any fires under the team.

He didn’t see loafing? Half of Twitter has seen it. What reality is this man living in?

I listed several in another thread that have all done WAY more than BN at the P4 level. He is 11-15, the list of more accomplished is pretty damn long.

I think the play is to hire an up and comer like Deboer (before UDub) or Lanning (before Oregon) as they tend to work out more often than paying for the "sure thing." Of course, based on our expectations, there's only like a handful of coaches that would meet our criteria when it comes to P4 level expectations is my point.

I like the mindset of shoot for the stars, that should be the gator mindset. None of this lower expectations nonsense that was being pushed around here last year.

You had all offseason for the chance to get better. Same as Miami had before they opened up their season on the road...

Who said we’re not shooting for the stars? There’s not a lot out there that is proven. We’re not getting Smart or Day or Dabo for that matter. Would you consider Brian Kelly when we hired Napier? A guy like a Brohm is probably like Tennessee’s Heupel hire. Money talks so he may leave his Alma mater, but it’s not a sure thing. Would UK’s Stoops be a sure thing?

So unfortunately, i was correct. Pretty defeating to see how little accountability he has taken for their performance.

Napier should know better. There are no basements in rural central Florida.

He didn't blame the fans, he said his team should not pay attention to social media. That, of course, is true.

Just don't say anything, somehing he is very good at. The fan base is pissed at you already, and the only reason he isn't being tarred and feathered is that most if not all think he's a good dude. Start insulting the fans and what was a extremely difficult mountain to climb now has people on it trying push you off now too.

there might have been a reason LSU didn't want Napier when he was in their own back yard.

Really? That is what you got from that statement? It is a passive aggressive dig from a person feeling the heat. He could have said we need to ignore outside noise and focus on improving, but he didn’t. He had to turn it into a dig about a loser in his mom’s basement. He sounds like Muschamp did before he got fired. “Do you know what a midline is?”
