Don't think he cares. Just collect that $625,000 check for this month's "work" and figuring out where to build his palace when he gets sent off with his 8 figure retirement package.

Dude looked checked out from day 1 to me. Just wanted that massive one sided contract and from there on has to work just enough to not get fired for cause. Not showing up is cause, so that's about all he seems to be doing.

If they feel like they are getting enough $$ from TV etc, then why would they listen to the boosters? If that truly is the case, what a sad state of affairs.

Same as last year. If the offense could stay on the field, sustain drives, and score points then our defense, while still suspect, could get a break every now and then. All the Gator problems lead back to the HC who thinks he's an OC. Pathetic

1986 stadium emptied out when Auburn was blanking us. 1/4 full when they witnessed Kerwin bell hobble in to take the lead. Oh those heady but frustrating pre SOS days. It was challenging to be a Gator fan back then.

His problem is his offensive philosophy depends on all 11 players executing perfectly each play and winning their battles. If we had a real OC they’d scheme to take advantage of the defense weakness. But this is why Billy still thinks his play calling is fine, if this play executes then the play works. He goes back to the film and is like if the guard blocks this works or if the TE blocks this works. Might work in practice but it’s against OUR defense. He’s too stubborn.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if they knew they were going to consistently get beat by a speed rush and plan something to counter that.

And when they saw it in the first half a coaching staff worth their weight makes adjustments at halftime. We do not.

They show replays of the offense down in Gitmo on loop. Supposedly very effective for gathering intel.

What is needed is a conversation with Stricklin on his coaching selection process, we are in a loop of settling for candidates that have weak resumes for the job expectations here. First time head coaches, coaches from second-tier conferences, and unproven coaches at this level is a gamble. It seems we are working with the mindset that we can duplicate great results from an unproven "up and comer" from a completely different environment. Just run down the list of coaches that have been bought out.
Zook-First Time Head coach is going to be what Spurrier Was?
Muschamp-First Time Head Coach at this level?
McElwain-Like CO State was a powerhouse in a major conference?
Mullen who is the only exception to this argument here, was given a very small leash and chocked.

If you play the odds, you are not in a favorable position with this approach of recruiting. We effectively are hoping a 3 Star coach surprises to the upside.

Now, unless you are writing the check for another buyout, demanding one is only casting a dark shadow on the program and the players feel it.

Stricklin is the guy in charge, and he is the one accountable. He can't seem to swallow that buyouts are more expensive than searching for someone with a true RESUME for the job! And if he can't get any takers with a fitting Resume, maybe he needs to share that so WE can work to make the job more attractive. Every coaching change since Spurrier was a reach and relied on some luck to work out.

Why are they busting it for donations to renovate the stadium before there is something worth coming for. Losing a game is one thing, coming for a beat down is different. Most expected a close game, it wasn't. And with Cristobal as a measuring stick for progress in the same period of time, the grade isn't good.

We will have to live with our selection and talk about it next cycle. In the meantime, we need to search hard for ways to make improvements.

Has anybody argued in favor of retaining Stricklin? People keep making posts like this as if it's controversial.

Are you suggesting terrorists are UF fans, cause I guarantee you FSU, UGA, Miami etc. fans would be laughing their ass off.

Actually they may give up info to stop from dying of laughter.

    Disregard.

That seems absolutely right on the money to me. If,if,if is not so much a viable O philosophy as it is a broken wing and a forlorn prayer.

Yeah and he had some memorable quotes:

    “keep it technical”
    “kicking game was great”
“we have a group that’s working hard”
“we have character but we have to execute better”
“we gotta go get it fixed”
“we played hard and I didn’t see any loafing”

    Faith restored. #believeinbilly

All coaching hires are gambles. Many proven coaches like Chip Kelly or Jimbo Fischer don't work out, while unproven ones like Kirby or Day or Dabo do. Who would you bring in now if money was no object? I looked at the list of who's out there and the guys with higher winning percentages than Napier are all mostly unproven. Only maybe a Kiffin or Malzahn makes any sense.
