Is Driskell still playing in the NFL? He was good kid! He got benched and handled himself very well.

He's still in the NFL. Backup qb in the NFL is a really nice gig. He's made a bunch of money.

He went for the money! Plain and simple! (And I am not criticizing him for doing so!)

Couple of things, BN is NO OC. He likes to think so but his schemes are pitiful with little or no creativity. Yes our OL is bad (2 OL coaches is a huge waste of money) but a great qb can make a bad OL look decent. Example, Trask. I saw Lag do things Mertz wasn't doing that moved the offense. Mertz is a serviceable qb but not much more. His inability to produce explosive plays produces good stats but little more. But I seriously doubt BN will replace Mertz for the time being. He may have to for our next game but I think BN is too loyal to Mertz.

Lagway did look good on his running plays.
The problem here is that Lagway will be a one trick pony.
    The defenses will adjust.
I am not knocking Lagway. I am sure that at times he can use his legs to carry the team. The key words here are "at times".
Eventually the opposing defense will be in the right place at the right time. Lagway will be stopped and most liekly get hurt and have to miss some playing time.
Napier does not not have more Lagways types to be a backup QB.
Napier will have to go back to the traditional QB (stand in the pocket) and get creamed by the defensive players.
The problem with your suggestion is that it does not solve the lack of blocking by the Gator O line.
Also, it does not solve the problem with Napier's so-called schemes.
Poor blocking and crappy Offensive strategy has to be replaced.

Not one part of the team is better.

    Sad but true.

I'm sorry but can we not do this again? Can we talk about imrpoving the O while not having to add an addendum on to every post that the D sucks too? We know, thats a separate topic for another thread.

Look forward to the film reviews by the super negative hack content creators who hate Florida football. Probably going to see the same crap put on tape as the last 2 seasons that they brainwash us simpletons to believe is bad offensive design. Couldn't be that BN's offense is actually the problem. End obivous sarcasm.

Lagway is the future and the present... The best QB must be on the field at all times. Football is a funny sport, one moment you're on top of the world, and the next day you're yesterday's news. Lagway is the most talented QB we have right now. I just don't think we have the right OC as of right now to fully exploit his gifts. The days of statue QBs are over, they've been over for some time, and that's something that many people here are not going to like.

No one is owed anything, but loyalty does matter... which leaves us in a difficult situation.

Mertz would do well with the 96 gators but there’s no pocket in this offense.

AR couldn’t hit a slant in slo mo though. Lagway is a much better passer.

We have a really good receiving class coming for Lagway too. Better find the coach that keeps it all together.

He will definitely do better as he can escape the inevitable collapsing pocket. That still doesn’t make for a good offense and we have the kids health to look out for. That said, mobility is key with weak line play. Some better routes with that bought time could help tremendously.. surely there’s some offer minds on staff that could draw somet up that is better than what we’ve seen. We may have to fire zNapier to get him out of the way to let that happen. I’d bet Calloway is not worse.

    Did ya see carson Beck?

He isn’t some run first guy. Pretty much sits in the pocket most every play.

And yeah his OL is pretty good I know that.

Line up directly across from defenders and run straight at them. Genius. Miami loaded numbers against us and had a guy without a defender consistently.
