I am not sure why Naps would even say that in his presser after a beat down on national television and at home. It’s something a little league coach would say. Was it followed by “Golly gee we tried really hard today. We are all winners for just trying our best, right?”

I think he feels he is in the driver seat and he is. Either he is convinced he is a great OC or his pride won't let him be told what to do by fans or others in hiring an OC. Whether he succeeds or fails he is a rich dude. Fired, he will get another coaching gig at a lower level and still not have to worry about having to shop at Big Lots.

Actually no, like the news I'm tired of it and tired of getting aggravated listening to BN. I keep hoping tough questions are asked but they seldom are.

The fixation on process/analytics above all else, including winning, is mind-numbing. The refusal to reconsider his own mindset is not encouraging at all.

I stopped listening to coach pressers on anything like a regular basis after McSharky puked all over his shoes. Oddly enough, Idiot blather and serial evasion tend to lose their charm after a while.

I am not saying to keep Napier. I am saying that with the playoff expansion, if Kiffin makes the playoffs can we afford to wait for his decision? We need a coaching staff that is getting started immediately after the end of the season, recruiting both commits and current players.

Perception and momentum is important, and Napier didn’t/doesn't seem to get that. We had too many stretches where bad news piled up with no good news. I am afraid that waiting a month for Kiffin to finish his season and say yes or no would have the potential to spectacularly blow up in our face.

Also, the Universities need to stop falling for sleezeballs like Jimmy Sexton. It’s becoming clear that these average coaches are talked up by these Agents to make them appear much better coaches than they are, all to make a more lucrative contract for the sole benefit of the Agents.

It’s kinda like the “hot” housing market a couple of years ago, when the demand was so high, that there were bidding wars for small, cheap, single-family homes that normally wouldn’t sell in an average real-estate environment. All because they were marketed as “cozy’, “lots of charm”, etc., taking full advantage of the demand.

I also feel that there was fake-hype surrounding Napier before he got hired, where false-rumors were spread that other Universities were interested in hiring him, which prompted Strickland (the genius that he is :| ) to suddenly make a panic-hire

The problem with that idea is that everyone would have to do it, and everyone won’t. They’d have to all do it individually too. If there was any kind of paper trail alluding to the fact that the schools got together and said we’re not doing these crazy contracts anymore, then you’ve got a whole bunch of people in a whole bunch of legal trouble. If you’re gonna try to lone wolf it, we might as well hire you, because nobody of any significance is going to entertain the offer.

Neither did I, unless it was Spurrier or Urban, of course. I just don't bother with it at all anymore. Who cares what an 11-15 coach has to say about the "reasons" for the suckage?

I caught a few in passing, but I didn’t make a habit of watching theirs either.

I think Brian Kelly is a sleezeball, however he is a very good coach. Look at the difference in his body language and his overall presser compared to what weve seen from CBN after the abortion we just witnessed on Saturday.

As I said on another thread, Kelly at LSU likes to begin every season with a loss.

Receiver on 2nd down catch didn't extend arms as he was tackled. That would have given them the first down. Turned out to be very costly.

Well to be fair to the housing market, those small cheap houses (at least those in rural central Florida) did have both internet and basements.
