I’m agreeing with the part of your post that suggests Kiffin is the answer, not the part that suggests Napier in any way can turn things around at this point. Presently, he is coaching for his next hire, and we are going through the motions of pretending he can turn this around before throwing him out on his incompetent ass.
Honestly it’s a slam dunk and a perfect marriage Urban gets another title he’s likely the GOAT Florida is set up for success. He’d have Lagway (who will stay) and he’d kill it in NIL Is the worry he’s too much of a hardass? Lanning, Kirby, Saban aren’t exactly pushovers. Is it that his O won’t work? Remember OSU? While technically true there isn’t a huge difference between the end of the Champ, Mac and Napier eras. Debating the degrees of awfulness doesn’t change it’s all been awful
I truly don't understand why the hardass is a negative. If the players can't hang then we don't need them. We got coach hugs and kisses now and we suck. We got guys chasing down ints with a slow trot, and nothing happens. We got guys taking dumb penalties that give first downs and lead to points, nothing happens. We got guys spitting in peoples faces that leads to a TD and a comeback by a hated rival you were kicking the crap out of, nothing happens.
He’s a mess for su re but I wouldn’t say Day took over anything unmanageable unless you’re talking the pipeline shooting out talent too fast .
When’s the last time he coached an inferior roster. Jags? That didn’t work so well. He could probably turn it over in the portal pretty quick with the right bank account.
Pro sports have primadonna players getting coaches fired if their ego isn’t stoked just right. Is that where we are in college football? Is that what the portal does? Is that why Nicky quit?
At this juncture I’m stating a lot of what I’m hoping will occur rather than believing will happen. I’ve not wanted to appear like a rat abandoning ship: but that cat is out of the bag now. Napier is a high quality person and he will give it his best to the end. That much I do believe.
When you say “high quality person”, what does that mean exactly and do you know Napier on a personal level somehow which would allow you to make this observation?
