    Why Urban?

    182-34-0 (.854).

We can't afford to be entertained at this point. Meyer wins wherever he goes...

All summer we heard the rosey outlook:
    Improved facilities
    Improved talent level
    More senior leadership
    Improved muscle mass
New co-defensive coordinator has made improvements
Read about improved team unity during camp
    Improved special teams

Those changes above and more changes not listed had optimism brewing.

    What didn't change:
    Pedestrian offense
    Meddling defense
    OL troubles
    DL troubles
    Head coach Napier

it starts at the top, we need a change.

I seriously doubt Zooker needs to ever do any work for financial reasons. He does this for the same reason old rockers keep touring.

    For the love of it...

Except Jacksonville where he was fired in the middle of his first season. I don’t understand the fascination people have with wanting to bring back retirees.

Kerwin Bell. No one seems to like the idea, but, he is a legendary Gator QB who runs an offense similar to that of SOS. He has won everywhere he has coached. I believe he has a D2 natty at a school without scholarships for football. Currently has WCU playing really good ball. They just gave NCSU one hell of a fight even holding the lead for a good portion of the game. He makes sense to me even if he isn't the most sexy hire. I think he'd win here and do so regularly.

His short stint at the fbs level was not that great.

I think Kirby has taken that page from his playbook. The man is systematically tearing down opposing schools with great efficiency. If Rashad is correct, could that be reason to fire Nape with cause relieving the university of his buyout?

Why does everyone say Bell isn't happening? I see that consistently, but, no one has a GOOD reason as to why.

Of course. But Cristobal not only got more talent in the same amount of time than Napier, he likely beats Napier if they switched spots. And Mario is not a good coach

Urban is defensive minded? He cares deeply about defense as he should because it’s necessary to be a national championship contender but don’t get it twisted, he’s an offensive genius and innovator of the game. He’s credited with creating the popularized version of the spread option offense. His offense that “wouldn’t work in the SEC.” He’s 100% am offensive minded guy. I generally like your views but you are way off base here. He’s just as offensive minded as Kirby smart is defensive minded. They are just both smart enough to hire coordinators to run their schemes. Please don’t disagree with me because you would be wrong.

He’s probably better than Napier but there are A LOT of coaches that would bring higher Natty odds over the next 5 years than Bell. It’s that simple. He’s not good enough

You’re in good company, both Tebow and Wuerffel were 100% on board and Spurrior came along eventually. I too had totally bought into CBN and was ready to enjoy a Miami victory. Instead I watched a team totally unprepared and outmatched. It wasn’t even close and it’s obvious what needs to be done to improve.
I understand the Reeves/Keffin situation and things that were said, but I don’t see how you don’t at least reach out at this point. Lane is our best option at this point and I think he could turn it around.

Zook may be in it for love of the game. But old rockers are on tour because, thanks to file sharing, all their residual checks have dried up.

Oregon won 3 big games last year but lost 2 big games to Washington by 3 points each. They beat an undefeated Liberty 45-6 in the Fiesta Bowl.

They beat an undefeated Colorado when Colorado was flying high and Deon's name was floating around as the next Messiah. That beat down became Colorado's downfall, never recovering from that loss. They crushed #13 Utah on the road, and then at home against #16 Oregon St. Their only 2 losses was to Washington, both losses by a field goal. It's the only time Washington was tested until they lost to Michigan.

Yet, Napier has just 1 win against our rivals, has yet to beat Kentucky, lost to Vandy once, and is 1-whocares to in-state programs. Napier has 2 road wins in his 2 years at Florida.

I would argue that one season as OC for USF is far too small a sample size to warrant criticism. Seems like the program was a bit of a shit show on a downward trend at the time.

I remember hearing it when I posted that my expectations weren't too high. My Barometer was this game..... I get a close loss, I'd groan, but it's understandable. They could've put 50+ on us of they wanted. Not like this game just popped up on the schedule
