What makes you think Urban is defensive minded? He coached WRs and came up with that spread option offense with Mullen.

I think 1 of the top 3 would come here. For urban this is a chance to do with Spurrier did in rebuild and reestablish the gator brand.

Right... I thought there would be more options. I see a lot of alumni either as Assistant coaches or up in the front office in the NFL. Not saying alumni coach is the answer, but the effort would be greater from someone who truly understands the expectations.

Yes, I concur. I, too, was expecting a contest. Instead, we were outmatched in the Swamp!

When has he ever had a bad defensive team? His coaching is always aggressive attack on both sides of the ball.

We did okay when we hired that Spurrier alumnus :D. Dickey, not so much.

He took over LBs right? Keep him on staff to groom, would luv to have Trautwein or the former RB (Gillisepie?!!?) here too. Phuck uga... but we see the energy/intensity that KS brought back to them. He can recruit... but they're no longer mentally soft like with previous regimes.

Urban won't, and I heard it straight from the horses mouth! UF won't even start to consider LK. Lanning would be nuts to give up the pipeline from Phil Knight!

Just saying he came up as an offensive coach. Of course he values defense as a head coach.

Brought?...I think you spelled it wrong. It's Bought.

Seriously though, yes. He took a lot of thumpings at UGa by the HBC and hates the Gators with a passion like any self-respecting smelly mutt should. I can assure you Spurrier still despises Georgia.

Too young for Dickey. Born in 79, in Jersey. Didn't know UF football existed (ND, Michigan, Penn State, Ohio was regional coverage) until Spurrier left Duke. Became a fan because of his offense. He also had an attitude and supreme confidence that boosted the program. Outside of Urban.... these coaches lack that charisma you need to be successful here. Muschamp maybe.... but he is a phucking idiot. Could've installed a pistol type system with downhill running, spread elements to counter that ferocious defense.

The best coaches already understand the highest expectations. That's called WINNING! Winning is the highest expectation, and we need a coach that is already winning.

You say that UF won’t consider Lane, but I say we are now a desperate program, much like Auburn. We will consider any hired gun who will win, especially including a guy like Lane who’d bring talent and fun back to our school.

Not trying to be too dramatic… But do we lose any recruits over this? What about some that were on the fence about coming to the gators.

Kiffen would do well and he has connections to S Florida. I could pour on the accolades, but I would be shocked if UF would even seriously consider him!

Doc, you are not wrong. I’ve also been a long time supporter of CBN. I still am, but yesterday was unacceptable. The whole team was a mess.

The team needs to do a 180 toot sweet, or else.
