How bad is it? Well we are no longer simply irrelevant… it is so much worse than that. We have crossed the rubicon into complete obsolescence. The program from top to bottom is in the worst shape it has ever been in.

    It’s dead Jim.

Yeah, those clowns didn't help, Napier was convinced that he could call the right plays and even though he could have hired a real OC chose not to and simply divided the duties with people like his TE's coach. His fate was sealed with that momentous/fateful decision.

    Hoping its not 1979

The game is too fast for him at this level. Deer in the headlights or whatever you want to call it. The "CEO" should have hired a real OC last year.
Then he would have given himself a chance to learn what it takes to be a HC and game manager in the SEC. Though not sure if he would have succeeded even at that. GO Gators.

One more thing... the defense actually took a step backwards with Ron Roberts as the head dude there. I saw no real adjustments until late in the game... when it was essentially over in the 4th quarter.

In the interest of honesty and fairness I have to admit I was skeptical about Urbs, I wasn’t sure his spread style offense would work against more physical, SEC type defenses.

How do we know that is to be attributed to Roberts and not Armstrong?

    Armstrong is still the DC.

The only exception I take here, was thar the Miami game really wasn't make or break based on whether we won or lost. Miami is a good team. A tight, respectable loss would still have hurt like hell, but it would have been forgivable.

The way we lost, was quite simply unforgivable.

We didn't even make Miami feel like they were in a game yesterday. We we're their...

    Opening. Game. Cupcake.

    Rev the engine scrimmage.

Us. In our house. In the Swamp.

...with 92,000 passionate believers, played for and made fools and suckers of, by an incompetent multi millionaire con artist pretender.

Somehow we are worse than last year. I don’t know how that’s possible but Napier found a way.

Me too but I didn’t bitch and whine in 05 . I have my reservations about all of them. There’s only three guys that have won the national championship coaching. The rest of them are questionable.

I mostly agree with that. That's all anyone wanted to see. But with a 2nd year veteran qb, talent upgrades at wr, linebacker, secondary and assumingly coaching staff along with home field against a coach we didn't respect then its time to win that game. Everything with urban was a competition. You had to win or lose to eat good food. Spurrier didn't ever use excuses either.

But yes, a hard fought competitive loss while looking competent would not have been the death knell yesterday was.

Said it before, I’ll say it again. We don’t need $30M. We need a strategy for not paying $30M. I’ll point out once more that Ole Miss never paid Hugh Freeze’s buyout.

In the OGT i said he should be out of the program for that effort. George must have incriminating evidence on someone at this point to continue to get ran out there.

I've railed about this from the get go, 0 consequences for shit play or effort, you get what you tolerate.

I used to think that it was deader in 1978, but it only took Pell 2 years to revive it to respectability. I'm sorry to say you are probably right. At least in my lifetime, and I'm pretty dang old.

That is a funny comparison in that They got out of it for moral reasons, where we’d be entirely justified for making the same move based on actual performance but have to pay every cent

There are a group of people who absolutely do. I spoke to one of those people in a social setting last year and he assured me that if this year was like last year they were going to cut that check and move on and have no doubt he was telling the truth. This group of folks don’t like to be embarrassed any more than we do and I’m 100% sure they have talked a good bit since last night. I can’t speculate on the timing of all this but I seriously doubt it happens after one game, it’s just far too bad of a look for UF to do it that soon but I also don’t doubt that Napier’s fate is sealed.

Completely agree. We need to reexamine the details and zero in on a legal strategy to navigate out of this obligation. I can think of at least one possibility we might be able to pursue to this end, but I’m not astute enough in this area to know if it would work.

Anyone know if there is an in here with the Rashada situation? What options would we have?
