Where were the "wrinkles" that all good coaches install in their off season? Miami basically had all summer long to practice against our offense and defense, and we changed nothing.
I think UF’s wealthy Alumni don’t prioritize athletics like other programs. They have their share but a large portion don’t.
I can’t stand Kif but yesterday wouldn’t have sucked nearly as bad I’m sure. I left too. Couldn’t watch anymore
The old gesture of support is always the kiss of death....I just wish Fuchs would have come on the show next and said that Stricklin would be with the Gators for a long, long time.
Last year we would get lectures about how young the team was. We just didn't understand. Those lectures don't hit the same now.
Stricklin needs to be fired. Guy can’t get the football program going and has basically has turned us into Mississippi State
I’m no Kelly fan but..l I think LSU coach hire was more like a 10 win coach historically than 8 wins. Plus, in his first year they won the west and played in the title game. In the second year they had the #1 offense in the country (with a horrible defense) and won the heisman trophy. Those are still fun seasons with plenty to cheer and be excited about. I would’ve taken Kelly’s first two years (10 total wins in 2022 and 2023) vs what we got.
They will never happen. Billy said after the Arky loss last year and I quote: “You have to remain process-oriented regardless of wins and losses.” He is so convinced that if he continues to do what is continuing to fail, somehow the “process” will make it success instead of insanity. That Arky game and that quote were when he lost me. I was never impressed with his coaching. But at that moment he proved he was incapable of learning from mistakes and changing. All throughout the offseason I couldn’t stop laughing at the likes of Josh Pate and Greg McElroy who kept saying “If I’m Billy Napier and my job is on the line I’m betting on myself as OC and I’m not giving playcalling duties to another guy. I would want to go down swinging, knowing I gave it all I had.” That is literally the worst thought process and logic in the world. Any coach capable of self analysis would have realized that betting on himself as playcaller is what got you into this hole. Stop digging, idiot! Go down knowing that you did everything you could by addressing your mistakes, not by continuing to do the same madness!!! There is no joy in validation that Billy is a failure. It still leaves us with bad Gator football.
Exactly and he’s a 10 win coach in the ACC, not here. Better but not going to get it done in my opinion. I hope we don’t settle on a retread for the sake of staying right behind the leaders. I’d rather strike out swinging.
"First off congrats to the guy in the mascot suit. Lots of respect to him right? He came very well prepared with his insults. Certainly I could have defended myself better just have to execute. He threw a couple wrinkles I could have been better prepared for but there is a process to this and I'm confident I will get there..."
