What Urban is...he is the anti Napier. Ruthless...intolerant of losing...doesnt want to wait on the process...inspiring...hard driving... there is a bunch of other words but suffice it to say he wants to win the day before yesterday. Napier...take the losing for three seasons as rebuilding takes years. Urban knows to psychologically drive his players to greatness while Billy knows how to drive them to the portal.
Good question. He comes from a winning program with Kirby. That’s really all I need. Here’s a bigger question, since we lost two NFL players this year that transferred what if we have two or three more big names transfer next year? Can we continue to allow that happening? Can’t let future nfl players continue to walk. But they will. Wilson and Lagway may be out after this year.

The problem is that SS does not have the gonads to make the move now. We will have to suffer through at least half the season and then when the move is made the players will just give up. NIL and the portal have ruined college sports particularly football. There is no allegiance to a team anymore. Players rarely sign with a dream team. It’s always WIIFM!! There is no pride like there was 20 years ago. You saw it in the pros first. How many players stay with the same team for their entire career? Not many.
Unless we do something. if nothing changes, nothing changes! we are allowing it to happen if we change nothing we are three years in and it looks like it’s getting worse. Everybody is worried about Lagway walking if Billy leaves or is fired. We should be worried about schools poaching, Wilson and Lagway after a 4-8 year. Make no mistake about it both will have people in their ears if they already don’t have people in their ears. Worrying about the wrong thing when saying if Billy is fired we lose Lagway. I think it’s the exact opposite. His parents can see he will have no blocking and that’s bad for his future.

I think the bigger problem becomes our three or four best players from this team are going to walk if we don’t do something. They will be playing for Miami, Florida State, or Georgia next year.
Any chance some of the Jacksonville stuff bodes negatively for a Meyer reunion at the Swamp? I guess probably not. Kiffin’s Raiders / UT / USC debacles matter not at this stage.
Yeah, if I hear that word "process" one more time in a presser, I'm just going to laugh out loud... Winning requires hard work, and football comes at you fast and furious... by the time you process you're already too late. And what's the use of a process if you never learn from your mistakes?
Doc you were the off season most optimistic fan and I have to confess you influenced me to the point of having high hopes as well. I had given up on Billy after the second season but mostly kept it to myself. I give you credit for a great attitude man.
The elephant in the room is something no one has mentioned. What if Napier really buggered the Rashada deal? As incompetent a coach as he has been, makes me wonder if Rashada has a legitimate cause of action?
Any alumni possibilities for head coach? Just seems like we're hiring coaches who clearly don't understand the pulse of this program. And the rabid fanbase that follows. This job is for the ambitious, the driven. Everything is in place to be successful here... we just keep hiring goofies. Smh
