The quality of the Mountain West was a 7 out of 10. I give it a 7 because at least it was free. A chance to see CMW’s Gators play.
77, you seem like a glass half full guy, which is great. In my opinion, that was the worst sporting broadcast I've ever seen. From camera angles, commentators, posting the wrong scores in the first set (we would score and it would add a point to CSU, and visa versa), and then we didn't have a score graphic for about 20 minutes while I guess they were figuring it out. I guess good for the MW to have a network so people can see their games, but that was awful.
It is Best to let her rest and heal so that she ready when we really need her. Healthy ankles are crucial to her style of play.
Where did all these silly two hand pushes come from? Roll shot, tip shot, off speed....but this is something that seems to be a point of emphasis
Can anybody give us an update on the 4th set? Sidearmstats is locked at a 1-1 score and hasn't moved in a while.
VB wins set 4 25 - NCU 23. FVB wins Match: FVB 3 - NCU 1 Match #2 vs Northern Colorado Univ. FVB wins Match: FVB 3 - NCU 1. Set#1 19-25; Set#2 25-18; Set#3 25-23; Set#4 25-23. Alec Rothe played the OH position for Kennedy Martin.
Really important win. Essentially a road game against a decent team, 1500 miles from home, without our two best players, a freshman setter in her second match, and two really tight sets to close it out. Nice job. Get past MSU somehow and then reassess the returns for our 2 stars.
Service in this game was stellar. Only 6 errors with 11 aces (I think-live stats stopped working in the fourth set). Parks, Martin, McKissock, Canaan, Hoyle and Adams all served well We stumble in our play in the 1st set, losing 25-19. We lost the dig game 13-6 in that set. I think we had to get over the jitters of playing without Kennedy Martin the rest of the weekend. We gained momentum in the 2nd set by getting more aggressive. Rothe hit around .700%, and Thomas had 3 kills off the slide. Isabel Martin was as strong (all night) as she was last night, 14 kills. Taylor Parks had 36 assists. The confidence we built in the 2nd set carried us through sets 3 and 4 to overcome the tough competition NCU brought in those two sets after letting us back in the match, tied 1-1. I think CMW and staff did a good job coaching us to a set win after losing our best outside hitter for the remaining of the weekend.
Nortern Colorado beat Michigan St. 3-1, so the Spartans will be the weakest of the 3 teams we play this weekend. Still, it's our 3rd game in 3 days and without our 2 best players, as you said. Coming home from Colorado 3-0 would be a very nice accomplishment considering.
None of them played. Along with Stuckey and Martin being out, it was a makeshift lineup and a very good win to pull out. I feel bad for Mary Wise. The talent is there - just much of it hurt.
