Disagree. To retain BN after another abysmal season and you lose the fan base. Not just that recruiting will be sucky, many players will hit the portal, and who really trusts how BN handles the portal. Yes, I know the buyout is huge, but if you really want to put a fork in the Gator football program retain sunbelt billy. A half empty stadium and lop sided scores just might sink UF for a very very long time. The guy is way over his head and is incompetent as a top level coach.
Kiffen would make this current team a top 15 team. In two years we would be in the final four for the tournament. We have literally wasted the last 4 years. I have never seen the Florida football program this bad in my lifetime. Even the late 80's before Spurrier were better than what we are currently producing on the field.
Kiffin’s agent would just fake enough interest to get more money from Ole Miss. He isn’t leaving them for us. Urban, I used to think not a chance but now… small chance. I don’t think Fisch leaves UW after a year. Kingsbury is very transparent about his hatred for CFB recruiting. I can’t see him coming back as a head coach, he doesn’t need the money and do we really want a guy fired at both his Alma mater and at Arizona? I think another mid major HC, or an OC from a successful program (Todd Monken?), or a fired NFL HC would be most likely. Who knows, doesn’t matter until we find out Stricklin’s replacement, and I don’t think we will get one of those anytime soon.
This is what worried me originally about Napier and it has been worse than I could imagine. The guy has zero edge or nastiness. He's total fluff and his team plays like a big fluffy pastry strudel. It's really sad because I did like him and wanted him to succeed, but it's obvious he can't coach in this league.
I don’t think money is an issue for Kiffy, I think he wants to be considered among the greatest coaches in college football and he needs a championship for that to happen. It’s not happening in Oxford. I think Kiffy would possibly wet himself for a chance to work with DJ.
To clarify, I’m not saying he should be retained. But yes, in over his head or just too nice. I really think he thought he had something with this team…
He is like SOS when it comes to scoring on teams... he doesn't care what the other team thinks... I love that!!!
There's always somebody trying to go back to 1996 or 2006 as if nothing had changed in the intervening years.
Lane Kiffen is not leaving Ole Miss who is going to make the playoffs and come to this dumpster fire.
