I don’t get maga and abortion. There are still 100s of thousands of abortions even after overturning RvW but Trump is wavering and it wasn’t an issue at the RNC.

Of course they are running away from it. Their move to ban it is unpopular with most Americans.

Abortion is still legal... Trump did nothing.

 

Yet Trump was boasting about how his appointments to the scotus got roe overturned. The gop is working feverishly to take the right to choose away ( as they bark about liberty and freedom; obviously the irony of that is lost on you).

If it makes Trump look good then yes. If it's anyone else then they can't be trusted and they have no values

 

Per the OP's title - I thought SCOTUS created the "Abortion problem" back in the 1970's when they created a "right to privacy" which is nowhere to be found in the Constitution. That error has since been corrected. Remember, folks, DEMOCRACY!!!

I listened to his interview and did not interpret him as saying he was in favor of the amendment. He had a chance to say that, but didn't. He said he was going to vote for longer than six weeks and that is not an option...it's either 6 weeks or viability. He can't think on his feet and normally he doesn't have to as the Fox "news" people spoon feed him. During this interview, he didn't know what to say. His internal polling has to be telling him he's getting killed on the abortion issue, but he can't about face to viability without alienating huge chunks of his base. I think he avoided the question until he could get back with his advisors and be told what to think/say.

 

You know what else isn't in the Constitution? The internet, credit cards, automobiles, jets, border walls, student loans, health care, gay marriage, etc, etc, etc. It's intended to be a living document with a SCOTUS to help take that document into the 21st century. This "lets pretend it's still 1787 and we all live in colonial times" nonsense is absolutely ridiculous. The sooner we can undo the damage to SCOTUS Trump has done, the better this country will be.

Just because the concept of a penumbra right is beyond your ability to process doesn't mean it's not valid. The Constitution doesn't have to contain the magic words "right to privacy" for that right to exist.

Your post demonstrates an ignorance as to how the penumbra right to privacy came to the legal forefront. It wasn't Roe, it was Griswold v. Connecticut. I'm sure you and others of your persuasion would love to go back to the days where you could be imprisoned for the use of contraceptives. That "in case you got lucky" Trojan you kept in your wallet all throughout college would have cost you a minimum of 60 days in the slammer. Is that what you people want?

I can well imagine many on the right's bedrooms are not exactly hotbeds of activity and that's why you insist on constantly making everyone else's your business. Keep your damn noses out of other people's private areas. Make the people's around you lives miserable, not everyone else's.
