The Constitution is intended to protect the rights of the minority. It was never intended to facilitate rule by the minority although in terms of actual numbers at the time the Constitution was ratified and for well over one hundred years thereafter we did have rule by a minority considering that the franchise was limited to white males and in a some states white males who owned property.

Tyranny of the majority has become tyranny of the minority.

To put it another way, the EC is DEI for rural white people.

I'm sorry that a middle-of-the-road (based on polling) position upsets you so much that you can't just stop from digging your hole deeper.

It’s not just liberals. Third-party voters like myself do not like it either for numerous reasons.

No. I’ve voted for one Democrat at the federal level, ever. But do go on and tell me I’m a Democrat. Your meme level intellect is telling.

I can read and I can discern a posters lean.
Yours is clearly left on this board.
    It’s not debatable.
And you questioning my intellect…ha, very libbie of you.

Oh, I know; posters like Channing, Rade and I are liberals in your mind. There’s no room for nuance with someone like you.

    Just ask…
Channing claims to be libertarian, but only disparages the pubs.

    Rade is center left.
You apparently don’t know what you are.

As I said, there’s no room for nuance with one like you.

I voted GWB 2x Libertarian 2x and voted for Biden because people like you put up Trump instead of a sane candidate and I’m a “Democrat.” Big brain stuff there.

I can’t know your voting patterns man.
I simply said you make arguments that side with the libbies…and you do it almost every time you post.
Of course I could be wrong…just my observation.
    Go gators!

You sure do seem upset. Sorry that a strongly majority-held position upsets you so much, Mr. Middle.

Who cares about feelings? The goal of voting is to best translate the desires of the citizenry into action, and the current nature of the EC clearly does not accomplish this. The fact that it would be difficult to change is irrelevant.

The fact it has been the way we’ve elected our President for 200+ years. Our founding fathers put the EC together as a compromise. Like I said, why talk about something that won’t be changed? If you want to debate it great, but it’s a waste of anyone’s time.

Only thing I’m upset about was the abomination UF put out on the field yesterday. Still laughing at you for thinking this can somehow be “fixed”x.

This definitely was not the EC that was intended by the founders. More importantly, if your argument is that no injustice should be discussed unless it can be obviously changed in the near future, then we will have to agree to disagree.

I'd be saying that exact thing...if I was on the wrong side of every issue.
