We only have one...Townsen...who is slapping her way to two hits per game. Our USA team is ridiculously better than everyone in the tournament. No game has gone the distance and the only one that has gone more than 3-4 innings was 6 innings in a run rule game against Canada. Every game 4-6 kids on USA are getting multiple hits. That said, I really, really, want us to get this kid from the 2026 class. McLaine Hudson. I posted about her a week or so ago. She is an infielder from Kentucky playing travel for Louisville Lady Sluggers. One of the youngest on the team. She is impressive and has been all tournament.
Our players are posting this on their Instagram pages; they are promoting the recruiting class of 2026:
Townsen hits straight away. I haven't watched all of the games but every time before this that I have seen Townsen hit she has slapped. Not this time:
According Softball America the top 5 transfer classes are: 1. Texas Tech 2. Oklahoma State 3. Oklahoma 4. Florida 5. Texas A&M
I have a list of 25 that I believe we are interested in getting at least an official visit. Not exactly a scientific list and there easily could be others I'm not seeing. At this point it is handwritten on tablet paper. It would take some effort to convert it to a doc I could post.
Take a picture of it with your phone, email it to yourself, open it, send to downloads folder, come here and click on upload a file, find it in uploads, and click open
I already thought of that. It is rather scribbled and combined with other softball stuff not really related. I could do a list of names fairly easily but that would leave out as much of the biographical information I could find that I've written down for each kid. We have time to put it together. It is only September 2....the contacts are being made now starting yesterday but the commitments are likely well down the road yet.
And in that same light, it ticks me off we never know who is visiting. If it is football, we know who is visiting every day down to their grandmother coming with the kid. Never a word about softball. While UF can't publicize visits, journalists can get the information and publish it and it is done on a daily basis for football. There's nothing illegal about publicizing visits....UF just can't officially do it. Doesn't have to be a journalist. I'm available if Tim or Francesca wants to send me emails from time to time and I'll be sure to get the info out.
