Science: Major Discovery of New Electric Field Around Earth

Step aside, gravity. Not so fast, magnetic field. Make room for a mysterious electric field 150 miles above the earth, discovered by NASA. Get this--it "lifts up the sky". Sounds pretty important, if you ask me. The last thing we want is to have the sky falling down around our ankles when we are going about our business and trying to look cool.

If this field did not exist, the nucleus of atoms that break apart into ions in the upper atmosphere would fall down to the ground by gravity. If that doesn't put you to sleep, the electric field is called the Ambien-Polar Electric Field, or ambipolar for short. The field cranks out a whopping 0.55 volts.
