If it makes you feel better I doubt anyone on this board has influence on his opportunity to succeed or fail. Unless you think the administration has a section covering forum poster opinions in their annual performance reviews.
Definitely. And if anyone hasn't figured it out, Napier is in the Dabo model. NOW- Dabo had tons of hiccups. He made many dumb mistakes and Clemson crapped the bed so many times from 2010-2014 so that yes, Clemsoning was a verb. And USCe- who Clemson fans hate, hate, hate so much- won 5 in a row. Many losses were the result of poor coaching/ execution. A dumber AD/ fan base would have fired Dabo out of frustration. Clemson did not. But (like Napier), Dabo believed in his system, himself, his God. And he continued to build his way. And they beat Bama TWICE to win the natty.
I would say two good things about Muschamp. He cleaned up the locker room for the most part, and, he's a good defensive mind. I wouldn't go so far as to say he is an amazing guy. I think he was a bit of a lunatic on the sidelines. Not my idea of someone to look up to or be inspired by.
Umm- I guess you never read this...It's very old, but still true.. Muschamp fights through adversity First 4 paragraphs. Will Muschamp has a 17-inch steel rod on display in his office. It was implanted in his leg following a high school baseball injury that nearly ended his college football career before it started. If you ask him about it, the first words from his mouth are those of his father: Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you handle it. It's something he says all the time now. As a tribute to his father's wisdom, Muschamp often turns to this thought in times of trial. Muschamp fought back from this devastating injury to walk on at UGA then after taking a RS playing in every game over 4 years. He could have quit 100 times. But he didn't. I'm really inspired by this. It's amazing. I would bet 1000s of others are too. But you are right he has a temper. I agree. I also said he's not a good head coach. But guess what- there's LOTS of great people in this world who would not be a good head football coach.
I agree. It's the Peter Principle at work. Several great DCs never was tempted to try. Bud Foster, for example. I never had issues with Muschamp. He simply met his level of incompetence. We all do...
Nope, never read that. Not saying he hasn't gone through some stuff. It doesn't change what I saw with my own eyes time-and-time-again on the sidelines as far as the way he interacted with coaches, players, and officials while he was here.
Your word vis a vis whom you might consider a DB, is such a joke as to serve as damn near vouching for the character of object of your petty intended sleight. ...but for shits n giggles, let's have the basis for your referring to DS as a DB.
He’s a slimy televangelist masquerading as a football coach, who whines whenever he doesn’t get his way. Furthermore, several of his players have gotten popped for PEDs the years they won championships. So he’s a cheater, too. No one ever mentions any of this stuff about him, so I guess I will.
I would reply, but I’ll probably get banned from the thread, even though you were the one who initiated the insults. Have a nice weekend and Go Gators!
Isn't it funny that Spurrier thinks a lot of him given that... 1) Spurrier knows him far better than you. 2) He was a rival coach to Spurrier and beat Spurrier a few times. Spurrier isn't known for being friendly with his rival coaches. (See Goff, Ray.) 3) Spurrier is famous for hating cheaters and has very little tolerance for same. But have a nice weekend, and Go Gators!!
