Dabo on SOS

That’s great. Good Spurrier imitations. I’ve never had a problem with Dabo like some here do. Go Tigers

 

Good stuff. I don’t get the Dabo hate either, he seems like an all right dude in his own way.

 

I don't despise the man, I dislike him stealing Florida high school players from the Gators... I still do...

 

I won't hate anyone for doing their job well.

I agree. He seems very genuine. Being able to come in and recruit Florida kids is on us . . . but we can't take everybody.

 

I think most would agree Spurrier is a good judge of character. And Spurrier thinks a lot of him.
How much?
Spurrier invited Dabo to his Hall of Fame induction- and as Dabo says in the clip Spurrier would call him and even mentored him.

 

It's good to know that the HBC had a positive influence on Dabo's career. We no longer can use his last name as a verb for when someone loses a big game.

 

I thought they didn’t like each other very much when SOS was at USCe.

 

I like him. He’s an emotional coach. But you can tell he cares about Clemson and his players more than his next contract or job. If Spurrier likes him, he must be a good guy.

 

That’s his job.

 

That struck a cord with me too. Spurrier wasn’t known for gushing over opposing coaches simply because he didn’t live within “coachspeak” boundaries. In fact he enjoyed poking the bear.
The fact that Spurrier likes Dabo speaks well for the Clemson coach. Spurrier is a good judge of character.
BTW, he speaks highly of Shane Beamer too.

And as a Gator fan, I am NOT compelled to like the Clemson head football coach. You and the rest can like him all you want... Go Gators! But like I said, I don't hate the man.

Beamer worked under Spurrier, so there’s that. I just remember him making fun of Dabo when SC would beat Clemson.

 

Yes, he is doing his job, and I dislike every single coach that steals talent from the Gators!!! I could NOT care any less for that team and their current coach.

I also loved if when Steve Spurrier used to beat the crap out of Dabo when SOS was coaching USCe. As a matter of fact, the only team I want Clemson to beat is UGA. I can separate the good man (Dabo) from the Clemson school coach.
