I’m not sure that the No. 4 pick is what you want to stake your claim on. That No. 4 pick was based all on potential, not college productivity. Did he look like an AA quarterback to you, or even an All SEC QB? That No. 4 pick was certainly a lower half SEC qb in 22. I love AR and hope he has a great career, but he was not a particularly productive or consistent QB for us.
I was wondering the same. Our administration seems to really focus on coaches achieving mild success at lower tier programs and assume they'll suddenly become wildly successful at the top. It's not a money thing as we're already paying a top 20 salary for some reason disconnected to performance. Weird choices to cycle through coaches before deciding to spend money on facilities and staff instead of just doing that in the first place and perhaps not going through every coach we could find who's name begins with M before moving to N. Maybe that was the hiring strategy, alphabetically hiring.
There is a big jump to Top 5 from T20 and are there 5 names anyone can feel confident that they would produce top 4 performance NCPlayoffs? Obviously moving forward top 12 is a much lower bar for “success”
Agree. Steinkelmeyer won't survive another coach-firing and he knows it. He is tied to success on the 2024 football field at this point. He also built this ridiculous schedule (by the way, it looks almost just like the 2025 schedule).
I believe the SEC office builds the conference schedule. In 2025 we have UM, F$U, USF, and FAMU. Those should be 4 winnable games. Birmingham is the one killing us with scheduling.
We have been shafted by SEC scheduling for years. We have been to A&M three times since they joined the SEC. Does anyone care to check how many times UGA has gone out there?

That's a good point about the conference schedule. That is the SEC doing that to us. Why do we have the same schedule in 2025 as this year with just rotated sites? There are sixteen teams in the conference and we play the same eight two years in a row? Dumb. Even out of conference, fsu and and Miami are the same. All we really did was trade USF for UCF with one cupcake again.

If we lose to the Canes, I could just imagine the calm, measured analytics that would be posted there...
I did some research in the SEC. There are such coaches that survived three losing seasons, but they were rare or they were at Vandy or Kentucky.
Build a team of guy’s inters in only money and you have a pile of shit. Money is king but you can care about winning at the same time. Show me a good loser and I’ll show you a loser.
I don’t know what the SEC plan is, but I’m guessing that the biggest rivalries will be preserved annually with the remaining rotating every two years with home/away trade off. The interesting part to me is how many rivalries will be preserved for each team…one…two? The good news is that the conference schedule in 2026 should be a relative walk in the park with Vandy, Mizzou, USC, AU rotating in. Consequently we’ll also likely add Bama and OU. Long story short, the SEC will always be a meat grinder, it’s what makes watching entertaining. Watching us chew through an ACC type schedule would get tiresome in my opinion. We will also trade UM for NC St. GO GATORS!!!
