We need somebody though. After this year we are going to be thin at DT, and if Lyons doesn't come back strong, that's a world of hurt. I don't have confidence we will splash the cash in the portal in the winter or have the options to get the equivalent of Banks and Jackson. I'm hoping James grows into DT.
Says a lot about BN's evaluations that he gets on these guys early and then they get heavily recruited by the elites in the conference. Now we've just got to win on the field and recruit our tails off so we hold on to them.
They all offered to steal kid with NIL and winning “if” the kid performs on the field this year. Many offer but don’t provide commitable offers
He's a project who just started playing football, so even his commitment to us is going to be conditioned on performance or the coaches will stop calling him. We need immediate players for next year. It was good to see Boireau get into the game.
He's probably not too concerned about UF now. May love us, but if committable offers are coming from programs performing better than UF, he's probably going to take it.
Not sure if a whole lot changes next year, since we have the exact same schedule and the same OL. Games are won or lost in the trenches. Will the OL and DL be improved or the same?
If it's not improved quite a lot by end of season, the answer is probably No. When you have a group of talented prospects, if you cannot develop to be a good group by end of year 3, one more off season likely not going to make the difference. We've had quite a few high 4-5 star OL on campus and something didn't connect. With NIL involved, no surprise Mugatu is looking around. Were I he, I would want to see how much I am worth and go from there.
