It sounds like they're trying to make her more electable but also giving her plausible deniability to say that she never really flipped, if she wanted to. She herself has not really outlined more than a couple of policies in her own words. So, let's recall. Not only had she previously attacked the building of the wall, but when Biden and Harris got in, they immediately stopped the building of the wall, as well as other Trump protections. That caused the border influx to blow up out of control. They not only didn't build it, they even paid millions just to have the material sit unused and then tried to sell off the material at a loss. Not a flip. It's called compromise. Biden was ready and willing to sign the bipartisan border bill with support of VP Harris. In that billed, it called for monies to build more of the wall. Even if the wall is useless, which it is, the bill also contained monies for other things that the Ds wanted, including more immigration judges and advocates for children. The Ds who negotiated the bill figured the useless wall was worth giving to the Rs in order to get many of the things the Ds wanted. Compromise is how things used to work in Washington. But for Trump, compromise is a dirty word. He's a zero sum kind of idiot, and believes his way is the only way.

Early in Trump's term, the D's were willing to pass a wall bill in exchange for citizenship for DREAMers. But at the 11th Hour, Trump reneged and the compromise died.

Democrats have approved border barrier funding for decades. This is nothing new. They wont be building a wall in the middle of the desert.
