Harris wants higher taxes on corporations. Higher taxes on wealthy Americans. Taking the top rate to 39.6% and increasing the Medicare surtax to 5%. Her tax proposals are set to raise 5 Trillion over the next decade (according to New York Times). Just what I want to vote for; more funding for the most inefficient organization in the US.

Ad hominem, strawman, poisoning the well and an appeal to ridicule. Great density for only 19 words. My compliments.

But how much of this would impact you? It would impact me 0 percent. Most of my income is capital gains which is taxed at about 20 percent. Why should my tax rate be lower than working people’s?

I’m a business owner I don’t need the news to tell me what’s supposedly going on in the world. I’m responsible for 27 people and their collective families. I truly want what is best for them and me. Lower taxes and lower gas and groceries is the key. You know damn well Trump is the only hope for those things. Kama brings more freaks and higher everything. China and Russia will know she’s a joke and will act accordingly.

There’s much tripe and platitude in your post, but little objective support. It’s been pointed out, as nauseam, that Trump started his presidency in the up-tick of a strong rebound economy. Thank Obama for that—and I was no Obama supporter. When trouble and difficulty actually arose under Trump, he failed miserably—something not surprising because he refused to listen to the experts he hired. (Remember, don’t believe me, believe his 40 cabinet members who to a person said he was incompetent and dangerous).

His great “policies”? What were they? Because his two signature moments- his revised NAFTA treaty and his tariffs on agriculture—were unmitigated disasters. Under his NAFTA, Trump managed to bring unprecedented manufacturing plants back to North America, except they were all located in Mexico, and Mexico says thanks. His ill-conceived tariffs cost tens of billions of dollars.

He spent more money, and increased the deficit, more than any president in US history.

His foreign policy created unprecedented distrust amongst our longest and closest world allies. His “great” policies—ignoring all professional diplomats, strengthened autocrats by his direct hand-shaking talks. And, his direct talks with the Taliban, to the exclusion of the Afghan government, expedited the collapse of a democratic government that was put in place.

The only thing Trump is great at is telling people how great he is.

If Trump's policies are supposed to be so great, why do 16 Nobel Prize winning Economists warn they will be an inflation nightmare?

As stated, Trump's first term policies couldn't derail the mature economy we had the last six years under Obama. Only the pandemic could do that. Remember Trump promising 4% growth or more? Never happened. In fact, for all of Trump's deficit spending, Trump's first three years saw quarterly growth a grand total of .1% better than Obama's on average!

That's not to say Trump didn't effect the economy. His tariffs single handily destroyed US soybean farmers. And Trump's tightening of legal immigration resulted in about 1 million persons working in our economy circa 2022, post pandemic, when we were suffering major labor shortages due to excess deaths and early retirements. This added to our inflation woes.

At least Trump had a few adults in the room his first term. But again, 40 out of 44 of Trump's top aids, aka "the adults," are gone. And they are saying Trump is unfit for office. The result is those left in Trump's orbit are true believers and/or bootlickers, who won't tell Trump no. And this time around, Trump's policies will be in full effect. And the 16 Nobel Prize economists will all have trouble sleeping. So will the rest of the country.

I am in the top tax bracket so that impacts me directly. A corporate tax rate increase will impact everyone either directly or indirectly.

Bottom line is no one should want to pay this government any more money as they have shown, regardless of party, that they don’t spend it efficiently.

Can you read? I’m in the top tax bracket. That isn’t a net worth of 100 million which is only for the proposed tax on unrealized gains. She is also proposing to raise the top rate on income to 39.6% plus a 5% Medicare surtax. That is what impacts me directly.

Where are you getting your info? To the best of my knowledge she hasn’t actually put out her tax plan other than a tax on wealth. You are reacting to Biden’s proposals that people are assuming Kamala will push forward. Now a tax on corporations is interesting. I tend to prefer no corporate tax but then calling dividends ordinary income and tax it as such. Corporations however are just stockpiling cash right now 100s of billions of dollars in some cases. They need to spend it. Either pay or invest or dividend, I really don’t care which. But if they are going to hoard it I think confiscatory tax rates are in order.

And again can I hold a Franklin? lol

How do you think Trump will lower gas prices? We are currently producing more oil than we ever have. Yeah, gas under trump went to $1.90 or so for a brief period, do you happen to remember why? If he kills the economy again, we will certainly have cheap gas, but the economy will be trash.

Please, enlighten me as to how he will lower gas prices.

New York Times had an article yesterday on her tax plans. Outlined the corp tax rate and individual tax rates.

Trump said so!!! Without any substantive plan to actually do it, but he said so. And, of course, because there were lower gas prices when he was president (before worldwide inflation caused by Covid and the supply chain breakdown, which Trump doesn’t acknowledge or put forth a remedy). Except, of course, to say he’d drill more, without putting forth any factual support that drilling more today would impact the cost give our own production (not surprising, of course, because Trump deliberately conflates drop of our strategic reserve with the cost of oil overall).

    9.5/10 for this rant.

Strong theme of victimhood. Touched upon false inflation attribution/speculation, hypocritically care about "sleeping around" suddenly, got in weaponized judiciary, trannies, you don't wanna pay taxes while probably bitch about the debt, fake racism and some whining about the media.....even did the Affordable Care Act.

.......honestly, I hardly know much you could have added to achieve a higher score. Maybe something about electric sharks attacking. Or at least windmills causing cancer.

Half a point was deducted due to lack of outright name-calling. But this is still a score to feel very proud of. Well done!
