Do you think they gave Trump a blow by blow of the details of the threat and the arrest so he could decide if a threat was close? Or maybe his security team decided it would be wise to pull the plug.

Is there had been an actual serious threat the security detail would not have let him out in the open. There has been too much scrutiny on the SS lately for them to have taken that chance.

Sure, but it's far more likely he's inventing stuff again, especially since he thinks he can benefit from it.

 

I dont think he's "faking" per se. He hasn't done a big public event in over a month (unless you count the RNC), clearly he's a little paranoid now (despite his defiant fist raising photo op).

Someone was arrested and after the recent attempt on his life it’s not shocking that there might be a low threshold to withdraw.

So someone was arrested for threatening Trump. I don't recall Harris or the Harris campaign ever mentioning this.

Whether you're willing to admit it or not, Trump is different and if he thinks that it will benefit his campaign he will continue to politicize the assassination attempt as well as any subsequent threats on his life.
