MORE NEW COLLEGE FOOTBALL RULES... blah, blah, blah... Translation of 12 rule changes ahead of the 2024 Florida Football season
Nothing against the kid at all . . . but when I saw the picture, I could only think, "I hope this is the last time I see this for a long time!" LOL! Florida Gators quarterback Aidan Warner (16) makes a hand off to Florida Gators running back Ja'Kobi Jackson (24) during Fall practice at Sanders Practice Fields in Gainesville, FL on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. [Doug Engle/Gainesville Sun] / Doug Engle/Gainesville Sun / USA TODAY NETWORK Some of these rules will affect games. Thanks for posting it for everyone!
Never been a fan of the horsecoller rule, and they just made it a penalty even within the tackle box... wonderful. That last hype video posted of Dez Watson rag-dolling that USF running back would now be a 15 yard penalty.
Collaborative Replay (Rule 12-4-3) Conferences are now allowed the option of implementing a Collaborative Instant Replay review system. Currently, this is an experimental rule. A collaborative decision-making model during instant replay reviews, which is in full compliance with Rule 12 and follows the Collaborative Replay Officiating Standards, is not limited to the press box of a stadium (Part II Officiating Standards, Section 16). Translation: Conferences can implement an off site replay center rather than one guy in a . . . * * * * * So now it's official when they call the SEC Offices to see what they're supposed to do. LOL!
So the interesting thing is will they have 2 helmets for Lagway? If not, you will never see both him and Mertz on the field at the same time.
