i'm voting against what djt stands for, as are many other republicans like me. people say I hate him. I don't hate him, I hate his actions, his beliefs, and hos total lack of character or intelligence. wouldn't care if he was named mickey mouse and was green, i would still vote against what he represents

how anyone that claims to care about this country can continue to ignore so many highly credentialed, proven people that worked so close to him tell you just how bad he is defies logic or reason

how do you ignore Gates, Mattis, and so many others all telling you the same thing. 40 of 44 of his handpicked sr staff will not endorse him. Why do you think that is?

    • Rampant illegal immigration - How could you vote for the candidate who personally blocked the enactment of the strictest border security bill in decades, one endorsed by the head of the union representing Border Patrol Agents. As an "old timer" I don't believe that "passing a bill" = solving the problem. Trump did well his first term slowing the rate down AND was vilified (kids in cages? those images were taken when OBAMA was POTUS). We can agree that both parties want to keep playing tennis (cheap labor, GOP. Potential new votes, Democrats) with this issue. Trump has claimed it - I want to see something done and he's first four years were much better than Harris'
    • Economic policies fueling inflation - How could you vote for a candidate who proposed across the board tariffs that would raise prices on every household in America. Eggs under $2/dozen. Gas under $2/gallon. Home ownership was up during Trump. Hey, he spent like a bum as well but it's gotten worse. Again, he had four years. Politicians say all kinds of crap - with Trump we have a track record here and it's better than Harris/Biden
    • No candidate proposed that the government set prices - Sorry, what did Harris say they other day? "I'm going to make sure Grocery stores don't gouge the consumer" Idiotic statement about an industry with less than a 2% margin. I'll give her a "pass" knowing that Trump says stupid stuff too; but, if you want the likelihood of more government involvement in the economy then you will want harris.
    • If you're concerned about the Russian invasion how can you vote for a candidate who praised the Russian leader behind the invasion and will ensure that success of the invasion by ending aid to Ukraine. Obama/Democrat = Russia invades and keeps Crimea. Biden/Democrats = Russia invades Ukraine. Trump/Republican = Russia does nothing. I care what he DOES and what RESULTS occur, not what someone says he said or a tweet.
    • As far as transgender athletes competing against women is concerned that issue should be handled by the bodies governing the athletic competition not the government. Apparently you favor government interference in those decisions. Just like government interferes with adolescents drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes I believe there is some level of government involvement to keep kids safe.
    • None of the presidential candidates has proposed defunding the police. Agreed - but only Harris' supporters have owned this position. Harris promoted fund raising for bail for the rioters who created havoc and destroyed millions of property in Minnesota. Not a fan.
    • One of the candidates has put hundreds of criminals behind bars while the other has committed crimes himself and has indicated that he will pardon individuals who have attacked law enforcement officers referring to those currently incarcerated as "hostages". 100% I agree. Trump's personal behavior is his strength (take no BS) and his achilles' heel. There were certainly idiots/morons/criminals on 1/7 who broke things, disturbed the peace and attacked police officers - try, judge and punish the guilty. 20% of the people are responsible for 80% of the issues; so, punish those 20%. They guy who was in Washington DC and ignorantly walked with the mob and walked around Congress and left without bothering anyone does not deserve to be put in jail. Worse, there are people who have not even been tried. What happened to a fair and speedy trial? Where is the Left about personal freedom and ability to protest? Nowhere - because these folks disagree with most Leftists politically the Left is okay with them languishing in jail. Great. Looking forward to the re-education camps next.
Hey, we agree to disagree. No worries, no malice. Thanks for presenting a reasonable response.

You could come over to Chase Oliver and get most of that without having to vote for someone who puts his own needs above those of his country. At least consider it.

Trump speaks a good game on undocumented immigration. But as the Libertarian CATO Institute puts it, Trump accomplished nothing to actually stop it. And just because things were better economically, doesn't mean Trump will magically be able to replicate things. 2024 is not 2017, and Trump inherited a mature economy from Obama. But, as 16 Nobel Prize winning economists say, Trump's policies today would be a disastrous inflation bomb.

As for defunding the police, the phase is poor. It's really about reallocating resources so that we don't have untrained police officers responding to things like domestic and/or mental health problems. But rather spend the money to have trained mental health professionals along with police to respond who can deescalate the issues, rather than police, who often escalate the problem. Not putting blame on the police, because they aren't trained properly.

The biggest problem with Trump is his second term will be without a lot of the adults in the room who were either fired or resigned during Trump's first term. This will allow Trump to be at his worst, without any guard rails. And Trump only cares about one thing, Trump, and establishing himself as some sort of King/Dictator. He already once tried an autogolpe when he lost in 2020. Imagine what he might do if he wins in 2024?

Thanks for bypassing your usual shtick for an actual position. Now, let's address your claims.

Positioning the bill itself as a solution to the immigration problem is disingenuous. The bill was designed to provide critical resources and make necessary legal changes to manage the increasing demand for asylum and immigration, which has surged by over 250%. Here’s a fact sheet outlining the projected impact of the bill: FACT SHEET: Impact of Bipartisan Border Agreement Funding on Border Operations | The White House

Imagine a corporal on the battlefield radioing in that they’re pinned down and outnumbered, only for HQ to respond that an order to send reinforcements doesn’t solve the problem. That's essentially what happened when this bill was blocked—it was a critical step toward a solution, not the solution itself.

Both Democrats and Republicans attempted to address the border crisis through bipartisan legislation, signaling a genuine effort to move beyond the political 'tennis match' you mentioned. Trump was the one who pulled the football back, leaving the problem unresolved.

Also, let’s get our facts straight—Joe Biden has been president for the last four years, not Harris. Come on, man.

I would agree, but again, they are not Republicans. They are not conservative, Never Trumpers. They did not vote for Trump at any time. They are Democrats posing as Republicans mixed in with Bush neocons and RINO's. They are the opposition making claims that are not true.

Binary-minded? If that is not the pot calling the kettle black.

Wow, so your argument is that Trump is so bad at judging people that he named a Democrat as his press secretary? And Communications Director? And most of his Cabinet officials? And his VP?

Can you prove that? Or is this more of your cult speak?

Aren't Bill Kristol and Sarah Longwell key members of that group? I think they would be surprised to learn they are not Republican nor conservative. Thanks for the update!

I tried to read your post with an open mind. But based on what you post it's just not possible. Trump didn't even TRY to address the systemic problems with our immigration system, which is correlated to asylum and our demand for labor, and results in most of the border issues. For you to remotely imply that he did anything about illegal immigration is simply disingenuous.

Never mind addressing the long-term roots of so many seeking asylum, but that's too complicated to address here.

Stop lying. Just stop lying. We're so so long past the point where lying in discourse has become acceptable and the norm. So this will be addressed directly : Stop your lying.

Grisham was a failure and only there for a short time. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Kayleigh McEnany were Trump's two main press secretaries. The dems have about milked this nobody for all they can so she'll be discarded to the trash heap where she belongs soon enough.

Grisham with with the Trump's for four years. She originally was Melania's Press Secretary from 2017 - 2019 before Donald hired her as his PS. She held that position for 10 months, before returning to her original job with Melania.

Too funny that you think that's a "short time," but then lying is what Trump and his supporters are good at. Just look at the 2020 election results.
